Ingredients:
5 Tablespoons Butter, Separated
1 Large Onion, Thinly Sliced
4 Sprigs + 1 Teaspoon Fresh Thyme
12 Slider Buns
1 Pound Thinly Sliced Deli Roast Beef
12 Slices Provolone Cheese
Garlic Salt with Parsley Flakes (I use Lawry's Kosher Coarse Ground Garlic Salt With Parsley)
2 Teaspoons Minced Garlic
1 1/2 Cups Low Sodium Beef Broth
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
Salt & Black Pepper
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350F. In a large skillet over medium high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the sliced onion and 4 sprigs of thyme, and season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring occasionally, until onions are caramelized, about 15 minutes. Remove the thyme and set aside.
2. On a parchment lined baking sheet, place the bottom halves of the slider buns and top them with a layer of roast beef, then provolone, then the caramelized onions. Top with the slider bun tops.
3. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and drizzle or brush onto the buns. Sprinkle with garlic salt with parsley flakes or with a mixture of garlic powder, coarse salt, and parsley flakes. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes or until warmed through and cheese has melted.
4. Meanwhile, in the same skillet, melt 1 tablespoon butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, 1 minute. Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and 1 teaspoon of thyme. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook until slightly reduced, 10 minutes.
5. Serve the sliders with the dipping sauce.
