Starchy vegetables, intact grains and legumes have high nutrient densities. Sure, per calorie, leafy greens might be even better, but you cannot only eat the foods with the highest nutrient density. Still, to get your calories, packed with fiber and lots of health promoting micronutrients, starches are a great choice! Which foods do you mean when you say "protein"? Also, which nutrient density to you deem important? (protein content,...?)
