This is No Man's Sky in 2024! I am starting a new game and giving tips to beginning players for ways to play No Man's Sky and how to get the most out of your time with it. There are a lot of mechanics in No Man's Sky that are not explained well for anyone jumping in for the first time. Hopefully you find some new things, and some help in this series. So, let's jump in!

Nice, I was doing this yesterday on a new save, and I find it amazing to have an experience player like you and the rest of the community helping returning players like my self 😂 keep up the good work
Just wanted to say thank you for the great advice (Again 😊) running the Omega challenge and landed on a dissonance planet. There was a Sentinel pillar marked with a message box shut down the Sentinels and got all 25 Sentinels in one whack. Just AWESOME. You the Best 👌

The sunny side up egg and the Crunchwrap Supreme are my two favorite glyphs.
After the last patch all my unlocked quicksilver items and expedition rewards are locked. Except expedition 12 rewards. But nothing is sharing across saves. Did they break it with the patch?
Question, are expeditions meant for you to speed through? Cause I did that with the Omega Expedition and finished it in like 4 days

I have been playing through a new save on my Live off the Land rules, so doing all the missions. It seems they have removed the part where you earn quicksilver for reporting to Nada during the Artimus questline.
Note that words translated by the various Translators appear in red, & are not counted as 'learned' (so if the translator was damaged/removed you wouldn't know that word group)
There are ~800 words in each race's language, except for Atlas which has only ~200. If learning words from an NPC, you can define roughly which subset of word groups to choose from within their language, such as technology or travel; the 'mystery' option picks a random word from the entire list of unknown words
Learning words can be useful for solving some of the game's puzzles, eg what answer to give to a Manufacturing Base's console to shut down the alert, or what to say to a Monolith to obtain the best reward
And as i learned to help my trade ship when they called me to them to help them decode some message... i didnt know enough of the vykeen language to be of any use to them.
First time a frigate had called me to help so i was all excited to go help...landed and felt as usefull as a chocolate mug lol
Ahhh! Ok. So I can't figure out what I did wrong. My artimus translator doesn't seem to be working, but I see that if you don't have the correct mission selected, things don't clear and work properly.
Nevermind. After deeper digging and reading I've discovered the translator is kinda bs. It literally TRANSLATES, but doesn't TEACH you the words. That's stupid.
