If you have an abundance of paladins, you can have them pick up Unbreakable Spirit and taunt/solo each slice with their bubble. Blood DKs can solo ones too with AMS if they have the glyph.
Too.. much.. tank.. info! System.. overload! Warning! WARNING! Don't suppose we could get the tank rotation in writing pretty please? Just in a list would be awesome! Much loverino
FINE I guess you can borrow my notes... You want tank A to start with the boss standing out of the group so the Overwhelming Blows stacks are only on him Tank B will taunt the first Inferno Slice onto the left group and then tank A will immediately taunt it back Tank B will then taunt for the second one, but this time, tank A won't taunt immediately back, tank B will keep it, and he'll move into the location where the previous tank was, so he can start getting his Overwhelming Blows stacks, and then tank A will just move into a group that is not going to be hit by an inferno slice any time soon. Tank C will then taunt the third Inferno Slice to the group behind the boss where the mages and the hunters are, and then tank B will taunt back. Tank C will then taunt the boss into the right hand group for the fourth Slice, and will now keep the boss and move to the Overwheling Blows spot Tank A will then come into the picture and taunt for the fifth slice, and this time again it will be on the right and group so they get their second stack, which is actually the first stack on tank A, and then tank C will taunt back. Tank A will then taunt the sixth Slice onto the left hand group, and keep it this time, and by the time he's got the boss, his initial Overwhelming Blows stacks from the very start of the encounter will have dropped, and from this point you just repeat the fight Destructive Rampage will likely come in around the ninth Slice, at which point tanks should be able to drop all their stacks. It's possible that tank A's stacks won't have dropped though, in which case you just have tank B start the rotation and shift accordingly.
Vylendis EU Surprised you still need it 3 months later lol. Ironically, I am not going to set foot in this raid until next expansion, if ever. I'm sure it's a great raid, I just don't raid =P
So using deterrence doesn't cause the damage taken by other people in your group to take more damage? I was told not to use deterrence since I wasn't getting debuffed and my raid leader thought it was just making the rest of the group take more damage.
It does yes, but with the strategy they have for using 4 toons with immunities (hunters, Mages etc) it won't matter. No one in that group should take any damage, provided they all use their CDs. If you're in one of the normal groups though, never use an immunity.
what you guys think is the Itemlevel requirememt on this fight? he has 150m hp, 6 min enrage, so you need ~25m damage per minute on average. thats like ~35k dps per DPS (12 dps, 5 heal 3 tanks), maybe like 32-30k dps when tanks deal dmg too. sounds a little bit "low" to me, so i guess 677-680 is okay right?
according to the vid, he has 194mil. Average dps requirement is around 36k, assuming the 3 tanks can deal the same dmg as 2 dps and healers do none. Making it more of a dps check than butcher.
Some of the info on this fight is no longer accurate. The debuff on non-tanks only lasts 30seconds now, allowing you to do 3 groups, 1 slice each, or 2 groups, 2slices each group. The tank debuff still lasts 45seconds from Slice.. so each tank has to take 3 slices in a row (2tank strat)
First of all, the comments about the tanking are hilarious because as soon as a tank hears something that isn't "Taunt boss at X stacks of Y debuff" they fall apart ;). Also, you guys said in the vid that tanks are not affected by petrifying slam, so I am wondering how the game determines who is a tank on this fight. Some fights dictate who is a tank by their role chosen when they enter the raid, so I wonder if everyone who can switch their role to tank does so, will they all avoid petrifying slam? Have you guys tried it?
You don't have to be a tank to select tank as your role. A ret paladin, in full ret spec and gear, can still switch their role to tank in a raid group. Historically, there have been many ways for the game to classify how someone qualifies as a 'tank', and therefore do not get targeted by certain mechanics. A good example was H Sindragosa in ICC, in which she would only target players below roughly 45k max HP. This was so the tanks would not get targeted by frost tomb, but as the health buff for ICC grew, other players were able to avoid this mechanic as well because their health was too high. So guess what? If the game determines that players who select the tank role can't be hit by petrifying slam, you can avoid it for the most part.
SgtBallsworth genius there's no way to trick the system if your spec isn't tank dummy. If you go into ret spec the game will see you as a dps idiot. Use some common sense...the game can tell your role by what spec you are in not what role you choose. You think just cause a mage chooses the tank role they will be seen as a tank...you are so dumb it's not even funny.
I don't watch these videos for the strats, I just watch em to listen to Alex and Loz's lovely voices.
British accent is the best
scrappybristol2011 hi gay boi
"aw bless him, hes alright" somehow warms my cold cynical heart
Might wanna move Iron maidens annotation a bit to the left from Blackhand at the end :p
Thought that myself haha
why?
FinnQwert
Because at the time I commented it was halfway into blackhands image.
The tank stuff honestly needs to have a picture. It's way too much info to get through words alone.
whats with the resto shaman pulling 35k hps? best ive done on heroic 20 man was 65k with 681 item level.
Is it intended that the inferno slice debuff only lasts for 30 seconds now?
With the four people group, does the tank count as one of the four? I noticed you had 4, in addition to the tank.
how much dps should each guys do if you are doing it with 3 tank 5 healer as you said
Did anyone elce think of the Stone Gaurds vid in MSV? When explaining all the tanks swaps? Yeah im just as confused as when i watched that.
:< makes me sad seeing you don't take rogues with you
What is the weapon that Felguard is wielding?
If you have an abundance of paladins, you can have them pick up Unbreakable Spirit and taunt/solo each slice with their bubble.
Blood DKs can solo ones too with AMS if they have the glyph.
you can't solo the slice in mythic. If it doesn't hit at least 4 players, gruul gains 50 rage
What are the add-ons you use for your aff. lock?
Why is the stream and loz on stream kill? :(
We'll be making a return soon! :D

what boss addons are you using?

What's the UI Addon in this video? :) Looks cool
Took us 45 minutes to kill it with this tactic, thanks lads

average dps including all 3 tanks and 12 dps is only 28k. So you could probably manage at 670 with a very good group.

Making it more of a dps check than butcher.
TheToffoletti thats why even method killed him in enrage with their 685+ gear
Slice debuff lasts now for 30sec, not 40 btw, this should be corrected in this guide
Roughly how much dps should each player be aiming for on this fight to meet the enrage?
on mythic probably 35k - 40k or more
i've heard you need atleast 34k each though im not entirely sure that is true
What UI was the DK tank using :)
What is the addon name for the scrolling dmg text that Vatti uses ? Pls dont tell me thats mik
+TsunadeLoL It's mik

Game determines who is tank, who is healer by their spec and stance (druid/warrior)
Well that was a stupid idea...what are you like 10?
SgtBallsworth 20 tanks definetely will kill the boos m8
