    I'm really happy that you've made the time to edit past footage and post. It has to be a bittersweet experience while doing so. You have no idea how inspiring you and Todd are, such incredible humans. Praying that the healing continues for you and the entire family.

    Todd, Tammy, and Liberty, Nothing will ever hurt as bad as the loss of your daughter, or sister, Abigail. It felt very personal to watch your private life play out in real time only to end tragically. I have been following your story for over 5 years as you first found, restored, then sailed Spoondrifter. Tammy, your courage to learn to sail after your tentative early starts in this twist in your lives made me smile. You figured it out. Todd, I knew all along you could do it, and a fine job you did. Liberty, some day as you continue on the difficult trail of growing up, you might understand and learn from the lessons of life. All three of you, never give up. Nothing is guaranteed forever, but you will never forget. Spoondrifter has been woven into the fabric your lives, and Abigail lives in that story. Someday you may all go out again and sail with her. I went out this afternoon in a rainy Pacific Northwest afternoon and donated a unit of blood in Abigail's name.

    Todd and Tammy, it is SO good to see you back on the boat and pursuing your dream. Keep on keeping on! You are loved by many! Can’t wait for further videos. By the way Todd, when I crossed the Atlantic on a 38 foot Hartley fero concrete sloop back in 1980, we had a 2 ton line and hook trawling behind and it broke! I think it would have been to big a fish to handle had we tried to real it in! 😂

    I have been watching since the beginning. You have done a nice job on making the boat a home. When you were back in Texas I really had my doubts. Sorry for your loss but i hope you will continue with your dreams. Good Luck.

    Thanks for a sailing video ❤
    I think it’s fun that you converted the 26’ under keel to 32’ depth . I know under keel is the big boat west of doing but I prefer true water depth so I can relate it to what I read on the chart ( plotter).
    That was a magnificent day ( if hot) .
    Can you get 1-2 knts if you only use approx solar power?
    Cheers Warren

    3:06 you don’t secure the anchor? You didn’t show it and as you pan over the bow I can’t see the lock either? Maybe there i just can’t see it..

    • @Spoondrifters
      @Spoondrifters  Год назад +1

      It’s secured with a small Dyneema line with a metal snap shackle to anchor. It’s easy to miss.

      I wondered as well, plus i didn’t see him lock it off, seems to be relying on the windlass, which is a huge No No!

    @6:16 your poor kids are going to be soooo traumatised :-))
    @9:29 what is the test strength of your fishing lines? for trolling i have read you want about 300 Ib test, for rod i would imagine 100+ Ib test, but i'm not sure of that. you should always use a good wire leader out there.
