Texas public land, outside E Texas is terrible. Most of the units in TPWD public lands doesnt even allow deer hunting. Worst state ive ever hunted for public land.
It’s super frustrating. I went all the way over to whichever one is by Hemphill 4-5 years ago and saw a couple doe and when I came back to camp, there was several people gutting deer that were all the size of dogs. Tiny deer. And when I was leaving, me and my son stopped at a diner and talked to some locals there and they said there’s a lot of people who hide feeders in the woods.

Have you ever tried run and gun hunting or just camper hunting?
