The absolute best and most touching movie I've ever seen. And this is coming from a person who has seen 2k+ movies from almost every country that makes movies. My favorite scene was when Paul Rudd says "We accept the love we think we deserve", this one quote changed my life.
+Shabareed Seenpha Hey, no problem! You ever heard the "movie's not even half as good as the book" comments? Those are true... most of the time. I mean visually, almost nothing can compare with movies. But with emotions and sentimentalities, books are arguably as good as the movies. But yeah, it's good habit to pick up, books. I'm pretty sure you'll love reading "the Perks of Being a Wallflower" in particular. Any books that has something to do with school life and its cute love stories, I have a few to recommend. Feel free to ask. Only if you want! xo
Because it's so adorable and innocent. I always smile too when that comes in. It's just so cute and overall an accurate representation of what an anxious and introverted teen would do in a school dance.
This scene killed me because he looked so happy when they took him in. It feels so good to be allowed to have fun. To be adopted by the good hearted people who know exactly what you need without thinking twice about it. If you are these friends you’re my angels and I love you. These friends saved my life
It takes courage to leave the wall and enjoy the dance and the people. I love how Sam and Patrick simply take this little fearful bird and make him fly togheter with them.
Grace C. I think they are trying to say that Charlie couldve ended up killing himself like Hannah did. Although 13 reasons why was good but it was sad since their situations resemble those who kill themselves. By rewatching this movie u see great, loyal and dependable people that care for Charlie.
"Oh my god, they're playing GOOD music." Me anytime I'm somewhere where music is playing. Hearing good music in the public is becoming such a rare thing but it makes the good music that much more special when you hear it.
You're not in the right public spaces. I once heard a Thom Yorke solo deep-cut playing over the speakers at some kind of piazza near King's Cross, London.
I have this clip (1:31 - 2:10) saved on my phone as a reminder I can always come back to for the benefits of facing our fears and going out of our comfort zones because in this life we live, it's moments of courage like this that allow us to live to our fullest. I saw a lot of my younger past self in Charlie which is why it was so amazing to follow his story of coming out of his shell. One of my favorite films ever.
Y'know what? Yeah. Raging metal fuels me. Classical music makes me reflective. Sick beats wake me up. Powerful lyrics tug at me. Soundtracks inspire me. But music for the sake of music - that is the purest of all.
I love this scene so much, it really captures the importance of friendship between introverts and extroverts. I’m an introvert and I love having extreme extroverted friends because they bring me out of my comfort zone and for better or for worse they’re the reason why I’m experiencing life.
I reckon you gotta have those friends that are confronting, put you out of your comfort zone, etc. Even just one or two friends like that. If all your friends are easy, comforting, lovey-dovey people who essentially just form an echo chamber, it can result in a bit of a closeted perspective on life.
I broke out laughing when Sam said "oh my god they are playing good music", I laughed even harder when Patrick said "Holy shit they are playing good music", I lost it when I saw Sam dancing.
This scene always makes me cry lol because it must have taken Charlie a lot of courage to go up and dance with them. And something that little and simple might be easy for others but not for people who are so shy and anxious. Ugh. He must have felt so brave and proud of himself in that moment.
by far one of my most fav songs from the 80's and of my most fav scenes from one of my most fav movies ever, containing one of my most fav actors ever (ezra, I love him so fucking much), this is honestly amazing
This scene will always live rent free in my mind. The serotonin Charlie gets when he decides to finally leave the wall. This is the exact moment that he stops being a wallflower.
@1:30 you can see that charlies character is dancing next to emma and ezra's character, while he is suppose to be still watching from the wall. its only for a split second so look closely, its an edit error
First time i saw this film was with my Gf who at the time wasnt my gf... and ill admit we both agree and love this film giving it an A rating.... However nonetheless upon our first viewing, i had no idea the kind of affect it would have on her. Not in a bad way but in the sense where this movie "hit a lil to close to home".... hopefully that makes sense..... I wont get into details but we can all agree that when Charlie has his break down in the film, with the movies sorta dark reveal into Charlies past, its hard not to shed a tear or feel for his character.... As that scene plays out, my gf just broke down and cried like ive never seen before and mind you she wasnt even my gf at the time.... I had no idea how to react or what to say let alone even comfort her or begin to comprehend what was going through her head. I just remember sitting down behind her as she cried putting my arms around her squeezing her not wanting to let her go and resting my head on top of hers.... I just remember saying to myself quietly "Im So Sorry"(not out loud but making the movement with my lips) as my head rested on top of hers.. till this day she doesnt know but i shed a tear for her. Sometimes people just need someone to be there for them no questions asked... This film is one of the best ive seen when it comes to dealing with the teenage mind and all the challenges they face coming into adulthood. Whether the experiences be overwhelming beautiful and loving to heartbreaking and tragic. Its in these moments they begin to understand and realize how life for some may not be as great as others.... if you have not seen the film please do so and watch it. Its worth the watch. Thank you for reading this..... assuming youve stuck around this long to read this that is lol sorry it was so long.
i remember watching this with my friends in 9th grade! they were my very own patrick and sam, except they were both boys. i felt exactly like charlie the first day of high school. had plenty of anxiety attacks and fear that i'd spend lunch and after school being alone for the rest of my high school experience. but i met these two special people and they were all i needed. for everyone who thinks this way, you are wrong. you are not alone. there's always something in store for you.
This is honestly probably my favorite scene. I relate so much cause i was always the one standing awkwardly away from everyone. Sometimes you just gotta force your way into having fun and letting go.
Heck, I am 70 years old. Honestly, I really enjoyed watching this movie. I always appreciate good music, the genre of the song does not matter to me, just a great dance song.
*This scene seems so bitter sweet now. I used to like Ezra but now after everything that's come out I feel like hes a monster. I'll never look at him the same way.*
This is always so fun to watch. Reminds me of the time me and a good friend of mine used to recreate the steps and dance to this scene. 😭 this movie always made me feel less lonely and sad a few years back.
I watched this movie two years ago in my interpersonal relations class. before the movie started my teacher came up to me and said i was a perfect example of a wall flower. I’d never felt more seen than i did that day. the movie broke me and i don’t plan on watching it again because of how hard it hit me.
This is the scene. This screams freedom, genuine, happy, true friendship, immortal to me. I want to live my life like in this scene, seizing the moment. I wish my friends were like them, the ones who don't care about what people are gonna say
i was so happy in this scene. i’ve never related to a character so much before and i was so so glad that he made friends. truly, being accepted and included into something is one of the best feelings in the world, a feeling that everything is going to be okay.
This film made me realize how short high school is and how every moment doesn’t seem like much in the moment but when looked back upon, you think wow, where did those days go?
watching this and think: oh God, I was Charlie so much when I was in the school. tbh, when he decided to go to Sam and Patrick, I was like "YESSSSSS DO IT, DO IT, DO IT" hahaha like I was telling that to my old self when I was on parties and I was just sitting there dancing in my head but I never danced because I'm not a good dancer and I didn't want to embarrass myself. this wakes up many feelings that I can't even explain.
I just randomly clicked on this scene from movieclips and it really delivered. I never saw the movie only certain scenes from it. I've seen a good bit of scenes from sad multifandoms where the main star who is the boy watching Emma Watson and the girl dance trying to hold it in while visually remembering a fight while the girl from "Vampire Diaries" calls the ambulance. So with that one scene in mind imagine how this scene delivers. Without watching the movie but only three-quarters of this scene and the scenes from sad multifandoms, I could see how he depression gradually builds.
