Unfortunately those males just didn’t care because those same moms didn’t want those sons to do anything on their own in order for her to feel needed.
Those moms wanted their sons to be dependent upon them.
But if those same moms had daughters you better believe that the daughters were expected to take care of the home and her siblings like she was a second parent.

This is how I KNOW we aren’t only seen as mules in society. We are mules in our own community. Imagine being and adult and solely basing how you treat women on your level of attraction to them. I married in 1979. My husband was the usual overgrown "baby man" who never lifted a finger. He said to me "my father never washed a dish in his life" and I said "yeah, and your mom never worked outside the home a day in her life" . I also pointed out that my dad took care of my moms car so she had a safe vehicle to drive us kids. I had to pay to get my car serviced. I worked full time AND went to night school. I would come home 10 at night and he'd be sitting there asking "what's for supper?". I would go to the kitchen and it would be a wreck. I would have to clean before I cooked dinner. He would get his dinner at midnight. I would fall into bed, to sleep for 5 hours to get up and do it all again. I was SOOOO happy when I was FREE AT LAST! I never grieved leaving that marriage. He was a BABY MAN

I have no problem with gender roles, I feel like they work. They have worked all throughout history, and for the most part will continue to work, but there needs to be an understanding that the gender role thing is not just for women. If a man wants a traditional woman who cooks and cleans, and takes care of children and organizes the home, and does everything that the traditional women did back in the day, then he needs to go out and be the sole provider. The work that a woman would do in the home is exactly that, work. Her contribution to the lifestyle should be acknowledged, the same way a man is whose contribution is to be the provider in the household. One of the guys said teamwork makes the dream work. This is very true. Why should the woman work 40 hours a week just like her husband but still have to come home. Take care of the house take care of her husband and take care of the kids. What I see is men wanting to do a 50-50 split on the bills but still have the benefits of a traditional wife at home. It’s not possible. I am a stay at home. Mom of three kids, I used to be an MRI tech before I stayed home. When I was working outside of the home, I would come home and do all of that as well. I did work part time, but even working part time and being the primary caretaker in the home is a lot of work. I am much more relaxed now as a full-time stay at home mom, who does all of the traditional duties of a wife. this means that my husband comes home to a clean house, well cared for children and a hot meal, waiting for him on the table, made by my own hands. I take pride and all of that. But when I was doing that and working outside of the home, I was frustrated. Now my husband comes home to a happy wife and a contented household.

And I truly think that hatred for their mother is just a projection of the hatred they harbor for their fathers that abandon them. Children often find it emotionally safer to hate the parent that stayed, rather than try to confront the pain of admitting that their bandit fathers walked out on them for no good reason at all. It's easier to imagine that "she" (originally the mother, but later all women) MUST have done something to deserve "his" (originally the father, but later just the bandit in question) bad behavior, rather than actually hold his father/himself accountable for his own actions and choices.

We've watched our moms, aunts, grandmas do that and still get treated like crap & cheated on. If Beyonce can get cheated on, ANY woman can get cheated on. No matter how attractive, successful, or how good we are in the bedroom or kitchen, a man can still make the choice to step out and cheat. And that says more about him than it does about us.

I'm also glad that I was raised to take care of myself before I would take care of anybody else, and that's why I'm GLAD that I'm living my life for ME MYSELF AND I ONLY!!! I love how smart the second guy is. He's in a 20+ year marriage because him and his partner respect each other and cater to each other's needs. The other guy is too focused on rules and roles. If your partner is in the hospital, now what? Do you wait for everything to get done the second they recover? If you don't know how to do the things your partner does, you're going to struggle when they can't do it.

I interact with a lot of men in their late 60s and 70s. Some are divorce and others are widowers. And in the last years they had grown more and more desperate as it's getting really hard to find a partner. Why? most women in their mid 50 up are either divorced or widows too and in their own words "being single is happiness" "I had done all that housewife shit for decades, not anymore"...
This young men are up for a surprise. Unless you want to spend the rest of your days alone, respect your women.

While NEVER applying the same confused standards to themselves... They don't even realise that, their thoughts and words don't make any sense. Side note: thank God, there are still men who haven't lost their ever loving minds, left in the world.

However, when I was dating, I got to the point where I wouldn't even let a man I was dating know how talented I was in the kitchen because they had an expectation that cooking was my responsibility because I was a woman, and that I should be happy to cook and clean for them.
Over they years I learned that cooking for a man, as well as utilizing the many other skills I possessed, was not appreciated, and certainly not matched by any similar contributions (traditional or not) that a man brought into my life. Most men will watch a woman work outside the home, come home and work her tongue out inside the home, and will show little or no appreciation for the effort. Cooking and cleaning for a man is not a privilege, it is a thankless burden and I'm glad more women are just saying no to this form of modern day slavery.

Look, my parents got married in 1956. Mom stayed at home while Dad worked (because 7 kids). But guess what ? Dad came straight home from work, rolled up his sleeves and began pitching in on household duties. He was an active, present, loving husband and father who had NO issues with cooking, cleaning, laundry and childcare. They were a true TEAM in every sense.
And guess what too ? My brothers did learn how to do all the inside-the-house work (cooking, cleaning, laundry, dishes, etc.) We daughters did learn how to mow, weed trim, rake leaves, simple car maintenance, use power tools, etc. The only limitations were when sheer physical strength was a major factor, and even then we figured out workarounds so we could accomplish those tasks.
With over 90% of chores, there were no “boy/man chores” and “girl/woman chores” - whoever had the availability was called upon.
In my last relationship, I did all the “Wifey” housekeeping and cooking… AND most everything else outdoors too (except the mowing because HE wouldn’t let me use his precious brand-new Zero Turn mower 🙄) - but I did all the weed trimming, edging, landscaping, painted the *entire* pool deck, lopping and dragging branches to the burn pile, washing the vehicles, etc etc etc.
And he STILL CHEATED and dumped me for another woman (who had cheated on and dumped him 18 years prior).
These Manosphere goofuses need to stop pretending they’ll treat a “Wifey” type of woman with any more respect than they treat “Non-Wifey” types. It doesn’t matter *what* we do or don’t do, ManosphereDudes *will* denigrate and despise us because they don’t actually see us as co-equal human beings.

It cracked me up when fratboy was ranting about how women needed to stop saying cooking is oppressive. When he asked, “what? You’re gonna let your 6yo starve? Make them cook a hotpocket in the microwave because you’re not cooking? You’re gonna let your man starve?” And i answered yes to all of those questions. 💁🏾‍♀️😂 Why? Because if you’re a grown man and can’t cook for yourself, then you aren’t fit to be a husband, boyfriend nor a parent. Because what parent doesn’t atleast know how to cook for themselves? Or atleast teach their children to be self sufficient when they don’t have any adults around? Like if a child can learn to wipe their own behinds when they’re potty trained by the age of 2, what makes them think a kid couldn’t learn the basics of how to feed themselves at age 6?
If my child can’t even do the basics before they reach 10yo, then i feel like i’m not doing my job as a parent to my kid(s). I be seeing kids under the age of 10 in asian, indian and african countries already know how to cook food, clean while doing their homework, play, recreational activities. Meanwhile we have manchildren in the states whining about women not cooking and cleaning because they don’t get to be lazy adults and sit on their @$$es all day. 🤦🏾‍♀️ just embarrassing. I learned how to atleast do chores, cook for myself and take care of myself (do my hair, bathe, get up for school, etc..) at age 4yo. So how are these males claiming to be grown men and still complaining about things not being done by a woman that they should’ve learned to do for themselves atleast before they became a legal adult? 🤦🏾‍♀️

And I've seen videos of women who have small little mini fridges and the child can do very, very, very minimal snack/ meal preparation.

I’m generation X. When I was coming into the time of dating and looking to be married I wanted to be a traditional wife because I really wanted to be home to raise my own children and create a nurturing environment. However the majority of the men I would date would express wanting a woman who worked and contributed a significant amount to obtaining a certain lifestyle. When I asked about how they felt about their future children being in a daycare with strangers 9-13 hours a day they saw nothing wrong with it. It blew my mind. They prioritized nice cars and a big home over instilling your own values into your children and making sure they are safe and well loved. Then the man I met who said he was supportive of traditional roles, became emotionally and financially abusive when I was pregnant with our child. Overall it’s crazy to me that men nowadays are acting like they want traditional roles when they aren’t trying to be traditional men. It’s not traditional if the woman is working full time outside the home. It’s a hybrid that allows men to exploit women for free labor. It’s predatory. In hindsight I would never fully rely on a man for my financial stability. At any moment that he decides to switch up you and your children can be in for a rough time. I’d advise any woman who values a traditional role to at least have a passive stream of income and her own assets before marriage. That way you will not be so vulnerable if your partner doesn’t live up to his end of the agreement.

That was always the problem for women in traditional roles. Most women also didn't have passive incomes, so they became entirely dependent on their husband for money and anything else she needed or wanted and she better not want much! If he was a cruel guy, you had a crap life. That's why unless you absolutely have to, it's not wise to depend on someone else for your income or much else either honestly.

I agree that a lot of men today are cherrypicking part of traditional and modern roles - she should pay 50% of the bills and yet still do 100% of the cooking, household and childcare. Which is even worse than the purely traditional role, because at least they do not have to pay any bills at all, he provides. I thought my ex was a modern man, because he loved successful women and her being educated and intelligent and successful was important to him. Unfortunately, it turned out he wanted this kind of successful good looking woman to also pay 50% or more of the bills. And she has to act generally submissive to him, also she needs to take care of contraception, do all kinds of help for him,… It was shocking. Just even more expectations placed on women without taking away any old ones. Needless to say he has trouble finding beautiful successful women who want to fill this role

As someone who actually loves cooking and don't mind cooking for others, it would still feel oppressive if my bf feels entitled to my cooking. Anyone cooking for someone else is a gift, and cannot be forced.
Incidentally one of the most romantic activities for me is to cook with my bf. Great way to chat and bond over a shared activity and of course we both get a delicious meal at the end.

I love cooking and cleaning for my family. It is my way of showing love. I love to care for my home because I have been homeless and I do not take it for granted. However, when I am outta commission on my full moon time, cramping and bleeding and needing help, nobody steps up.
Also, a lot of people don't care if you cook and clean for them. They don't see it as an act of love.

Why are all these conversations in western countries centered around "women work too"?? Dude, WOMEN HAVE FCKIN GOD GIVEN INTELLIGENCE, not for them to waste it by doing manual work and ' stay at home', women have intelligence because they're meant to shape society just like men fckin do. So many stupid XY forgetting women have brains. Please save humanity and EDUCATE Them about human intelligence.
