There was no going back, once marana hit her, she was dead, Arana just paused her condition in stasis, thus suspending her in time(in a sense). The only way to heal her, was no medicine, but to straight up give her life back.
"They traveled with Nara and taught Nara languages and the philosophy of nature." Dude! They are foreshadowing Paimon being a seelie even more than I picked up my first time through.
40:00 I think the best part is that because of the Moonchase Festival and "guobafication" of Marchosius, most theorycrafters presumed that Lesser Lord Kusanali was just the guobafied version of Greater Lord Rukkadevata and that was the direction the Archon Quest was heading. Little did they know that Kusanali being a guobafied Rukkadevata was actually a red herring the entire time and they are, by definition, distinct separate entities.
Another point towards the Paimon - Seelie theory: Arama said that Seelies used to teach humans language, and we know that Paimon was the one to teach the Traveler Teyvat's language. There's also Seelies being guides to humans, as well as guiding to treasure chests... And what does Paimon pride herself in the most? Being a Great Guide
So, nice little detail about Alphonso, if you talked to him before Iotham runs into the cave at the start of the world quest, OR waited until 3.2+, and read his thoughts via Nahida's Elemental Skill, he talks about "the mission"/"this assignment". Choosing to leave quietly gives the dialogue: "There's no other choice... It must be done..." If you talked to him at anytime during the world quest while Rana is being protected by Arana, he says "But as they say, 'Do not yield to the wind, or the rain. Do not yield to the winter snow, or the summer heat...' It's these setbacks that help us grow stronger. I hope Iotham will learn from this experience too." , hinting about his ties to the House of the Hearth/Fatui, and the quote he says are his final words to Iotham if you choose to kill him outside the village.
I will remember to visit Arama later. I also could not help but shed tears when Arama became the Tree. I'm actually somewhat glad it's not voice acted or else it would even be like 10 times heartbreaking. One of the best world quests I've ever experienced. Genshin is not a perfect game, but its stories like these that make those small flaws minute in my opinion. Well I still get baffled whenever we try to fight while trying to read fast enough before the dialogue goes away. If only they would stop doing that so players that want to will be able to read and appreciate those dialogues more.
I remember watching this scene and saw Arnold cried had me bawling too. This is why I love him so much. Thank you again, Arnold, for the nostalgia and journey with the Aranara 😭💖

I really feel sad whenever I see people saying they didn't like this quest and literally got PTSD from this because of how long it was but it's one of the best quests out there. I'm so glad we felt the same way about this one, I love this quest so much

Two things i still want after this quest: Rana on the banner! And an epilogue with Old Vanarana, showing its healing and potentially seeing Arama again💜
There technically is an epilogue at Old Vanarana, where you can interact with Arama (in a sense) and you can kind of see the healing effects of Arama becoming the new Ashvatta Tree. The last Aranara Adventures upload is tomorrow, and that video features that quest.
I really loved Sumeru's world quests Inazuma's were great too but idk there's something about the Arnara Quest and the Golden Slumber line that just stuck with me and I'm so glad that Fontain's quest line really kept up this quality.Thanks for keeping this time capsule Arnold it's reassuring to know these stories won't vanish. As for theory's alot has been speculated about Paimon , I genuinely think that both Paimon and the Travler/s are original to Teyvat , Specifically to the Light realm , besides the Celestia Pillars there's one other thing that gives off the same constellation effect and that is the Light actuator devices found in various ruins, and if the world is an constant cycle I think the Travler is basicly part of that Cycle sent out to travle and come back when the time comes ,Paimon might be one of the Seeles or even Phanes since similarly to how Nahida shares similarities to the Aranara who's to say Seeles don't share similarities to their original creator.
I keep forgetting to say this, but fun fact, in my local native language saka means sugar, and it's adorable because arasaka literally obsessed with sugar 😂 It's in acehnese language.

The Marana’s Avatar was so cool. It was the first time that we saw something in Genshin that vaguely resembled a Quantum Beast from Honkai Impact. The corrupting energies, the Abyss of the Sea of Quanta, the deep lore of these games is really interesting if you dive in.
1:15:01 rewatching this this after Fontaine and Arle Story Quest kinda puts Alfonso's response (or lack of one) into perspective, when the Traveler tells him why Arana didn't want the kids to remember the terror they felt because of their abduction. whether Arlecchino is a good Father to the kids of the Hearth or not, they're still child soldiers and they're still encouraged to undertake dangerous missions and do ugly things without sugarcoating anything. leaving the Hearth is to "die", whether they physically die, they desert the fatui, or they have their memories wiped. (importantly, most of the kids, possibly including Alphonso, don't know about that last one.) Alphonso is clearly thankful for Arana's intervention cause again, the House of the Hearth isn't an ordinary establishment, and the Aranara have their own ways to go about things with the children of Sumeru which mostly result in the children being happy, kind, and playful. Alfonso had gotten attached to the kids of Vimara Village - but he still went through with his mission, and is talking with an angry Traveler right now, so he won't get to outline whatever thought process he has. "if only i were born in Vimara Village..." still interesting to think of now that we have Arlecchino and Fontaine.
The forest will remember. Truly words that I never thought would break me as much as this quest did the first time I did it, it truly is an amazing quest! Amazing work to the writing team for sure~ Also can we talk about that boss music theme?! That theme only lasted for a few minutes when you fought it, but it sounds so good, having two versions of it, one where you linger to defeat its defenses and the other as you attack it, so good! Really love how they showed Marana’s avatar, really great work with building up the story and really getting you prepared for the final boss, it really feels like the current journey we have, and I’m really enjoying it! I haven’t watched this video yet, but I know it’s going to be amazing~ Again thank you Murderofbirds for sharing this amazing quest, I don’t think anyone has made a series of this quest, let alone actually payed attention to the lore and story and actually made sense of the cryptic words, truly a wonder to see you make this quest series, keep it up~

Yet another quest showing us how horrible the House is to any of its children who even dream of leaving. I was not helped by how recently I had finished Fortune Slip when I did this, so the hopeful exit for one vs the pure despair of the other...
I knew it was coming and yet I still couldn’t stop crying!!!!! I so badly wish they could one day adapt this into a ghibli esque film but even then I know the film wouldn’t do it justice only because we spent literally dozens of hours irl with these Aranara. I get so easily sappy over stories that revolve around friendship and memories, and man, they did an amazing job with this one. If there was ONE thing I had to nitpick, I think they jumped the gun on giving Rana a vision. Jeht should’ve gotten one but while I like Rana, I’m not sure why in this moment her ambition was suddenly acknowledged. Regardless, I love the Aranara sooo much.
Yes. At this point into the quest line, the grasp on Irminsul wasn’t as solidified as it is in present-day Genshin, so it makes a lot more sense for Sarva to be Irminsul.

paimon in my theory i hope she's a goddess in the past, related to the seelies or the sisters, or lastly on celestia, then she lost authority, her memories were sealed or erased somewhat or in a scary theory of way, she knows and keeping an eye on the traveller for the celestia to monitor, and more like mastered the facade/pretending than furina acting i have a feeling that something will happen to paimon soon or there will be just a huge lore drop like a celestial nail in the future version updates because of the 4.4, the celestia is near yilong wharf and the border of fontaine and also the locked area boarding fontaine, liyue and sumeru... is interesting
thought about "Maranas Avatar" it takes the form of a purple sphere, and the manifestation of abyssal power of sorts. Do we think anyone has any relation to the tainted "false pearl" seen in the battlepass cutscene? the one that entinced and corrupted the other sibling (in this case lumine) could it be that this "avatar" is one weaker being that takes the form of a greater power, which is the one in the bp cutscene?

I think paimon is one of the original "gods" in the seats of the world, one of the original 7 and yeah probably one of the descenders either betrayed or something.
I started this mission by accident and thinking I could finish it fast, I kinda disliked it at first, but the more I played the more I liked it. It ended up being One Piece.
huh... they "think" she's dead or she's really dead? what's the probability that she really is the third descender but the one we're meeting now is her *memories* turned into something else that takes her form? idk if anyone has had that theory but it's been a recurring theme in the game where creatures here *die* and somehow become another thing that inherited their past selves' memories edit: oh uhh now that i think about it, the aranara thinking lumine is dead wouldn't really be a supportive evidence to back up the "lumine is the third descender" theory since the gnosis existed way before 500 years ago... doesn't mean that theory is wrong though cause lumine 500 years ago could still very well be not the true lumine - it's just that it wouldn't connect with the timeline if she only *died* after helping the aranara. UNLESS her current *form* is constantly "dying" and "being born" just like the aranara... it would make sense that the aranara would refer to it as her returning to sarva if she works like that... they also referred to her light being dimmer than aether's
Paimon is not the greatest guide :)) She doesn't know many things. Even Aranara knows better than her. I liked this part very much. So much emotion overwhelm with these little cabbages.
I actually liked how he kept calling Arama a guy. It is never said if they are a guy or a girl, bc i don't remember anyone referring to Arama as a pronoun, instead they just call them ''Arama'' I somehow etched into my head that all Aranara who have these long, droopy, ear-like leaves and a flower whose petals point skywards, are girls. But well, it is never proven if they even have a gender. Maybe they just choose their own pronouns, and everyone else go with it. Truly, an example most humans should learn.
They don't have a concept of gender as shown by the group of cooking Aranara. Those Aranara only call themselves "brothers and sisters" because the sibling had taught them about the concept of gender. And yeah, if only we could learn their example for sure.

my idea of paimon being a seelie seemed logical, also the ruin grader you thought was different is the autonomous ruin grader.

If there was ONE thing I had to nitpick, I think they jumped the gun on giving Rana a vision. Jeht should’ve gotten one but while I like Rana, I’m not sure why in this moment her ambition was suddenly acknowledged. Regardless, I love the Aranara sooo much.

Yes. At this point into the quest line, the grasp on Irminsul wasn’t as solidified as it is in present-day Genshin, so it makes a lot more sense for Sarva to be Irminsul.

huh... they "think" she's dead or she's really dead? what's the probability that she really is the third descender but the one we're meeting now is her *memories* turned into something else that takes her form? idk if anyone has had that theory but it's been a recurring theme in the game where creatures here *die* and somehow become another thing that inherited their past selves' memories
edit: oh uhh now that i think about it, the aranara thinking lumine is dead wouldn't really be a supportive evidence to back up the "lumine is the third descender" theory since the gnosis existed way before 500 years ago... doesn't mean that theory is wrong though cause lumine 500 years ago could still very well be not the true lumine - it's just that it wouldn't connect with the timeline if she only *died* after helping the aranara. UNLESS her current *form* is constantly "dying" and "being born" just like the aranara... it would make sense that the aranara would refer to it as her returning to sarva if she works like that... they also referred to her light being dimmer than aether's

I somehow etched into my head that all Aranara who have these long, droopy, ear-like leaves and a flower whose petals point skywards, are girls. But well, it is never proven if they even have a gender.
Maybe they just choose their own pronouns, and everyone else go with it. Truly, an example most humans should learn.
They don't have a concept of gender as shown by the group of cooking Aranara. Those Aranara only call themselves "brothers and sisters" because the sibling had taught them about the concept of gender. And yeah, if only we could learn their example for sure.
