      I think its atrocious that you CENSOR people's comments. You are right, if we don't like her style we can leave. However, I am telling you, like it or not, that her tutuorial was like chalk on a blackboard due to her totally inefficient manner & her babbling. and SHE IS NOT a good clay artist. She is messy, sloppy, and very amateur. Now you CENSOR can erase my comments, if you wish. She is so slow and dull that I wanted to throw something at my computer. Lots of luck if you think this is someone you are learning art techniques from---astounding to me.

    I have the same Atlas machine and I would love it if you could give some tips on cleaning it or even a video showing the best way.

    • @Mimismarketva
      @Mimismarketva  8 лет назад

      My machine has been "Monafied" so cleaning my machine is much different than a machine that has not been modified. Atlas started putting plastic or nylon edges on their pasta machine which makes them stick to clay. Mona Kissel will take your machine, replace the blades with all metal blades and modify it so all you have to do is remove 2 screws to clean the machine. So showing how I clean my machine would not help if you don't have a modified machine. Sorry! Here is a link to Mona's page if interested: www.monakissel.com/toolspasta.html

    • @Mimismarketva
      @Mimismarketva  8 лет назад +1

      This page might help you also. This is what I used for reference when I had to dismantle my pasta machine. Just be careful to note where everything goes!

    I wondered if you bake your pieces in a regular oven or other? Also, since temperatures of ovens fluctuate, especially with toaster ovens, how do you adjust for that when baking so the pieces don't burn. I understand that using an oven thermometer is essential, but toaster ovens can increase temperature from say the recommended 275 degrees to over 300 degrees. What do you do if the temperature raises when you are baking a piece? thanks.

    • @Mimismarketva
      @Mimismarketva  8 лет назад

      I use a Hamilton Beach convection oven used only for clay. It is taller than a toaster oven. I preheat the oven before putting the clay piece in and watch the temperature with an oven thermometer. Once it is preheated it keeps a steady temperature. I also always cover my clay with a foil pan turned upside-down. I think the air movement helps keep a constant temperature. I can only tell you what works for me. I believe a toaster oven is too small and the clay is too close to the heating elements. I hope this helps.

    I found this video when I typed in the search on RUclips, because I'm just now learning how to make jewelry out of clay. I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but you could have warned that you were going to turn on a loud machine, because it was a lot louder than your voice, and it startled my baby because she had laid down for a nap, and I was using that time to do something I enjoy. I also wonder why wouldn't you edit out all the times you went looking for stuff. I just wasted about 45 minutes, and barely learned anything...thanks!
