This was the first episode of Will and Grace I ever watched-precisely because Matt Damon was guest starring-and it led to my becoming a devoted fan of the show. The script was witty, and YES I caught the “I’m in a committed relationship with my high school boyfriend Ben” joke and thought it was hilarious. Obviously both Matt and Ben have a wicked sense of humor snd were okay with the joke. It also showed they were emotionally secure because there were silly rumors around about the two of them at the time that their friend, director Kevin Smith (Chasing Amy, Clerks, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Dogma), used to parody in interviews about working with the two.
Matt Damon has always shown the ability to poke fun at himself, hence the whole rivalry with Jimmy Kimmel.

Matt Damon was fantastic in this one. And yes we all suspected Ben was more than just a "business partner" (wink wink). One of my favorite episodes.

Way better than Brad Pitt on Friends, though that was a witty episode too. Matt Damon’s comedic timing is much better than Pitt’s, who doesn’t quite match the timing of the Friends cast.

It was kind of sad seeing them try and reprise the series in the last few years. You just knew it would flop. The humor is no longer funny. Realize gay humor was funny back then because being gay wasn't talked about openly. Now we have drag queens in elementary schools and everyone calls the people they are intimate with "partners" like we're all gay.
It's like you can't go home again. A bit like Netflix trying to revive FRASIER. That will be a total disaster. It's outdated and again, you can't go home again.
