Tao III lyrics Part of the way is our faith in ourselves Where the paths grow vague Through a deep and dark descent Where theres sound All around Drags us down Part of the test we must enter by ourselves To that garden place where only self remains where There's no sound Only one As silence comes When we've lost our tongue Something fails and all of faith goes flying 'gainst the wall A waste of life to compromise the gods we really are Will you walk me through the waste Would you guide me cross the plain Would you help me to escape Would you climb me the peaks Gazing down At the world Spreading out Like a map upon the clouds Something tells me there's no bringing back the years we've lost Waste of time to try to find the gods we really are Something fails and all of faith goes flying 'gainst the wall We waste a life to compromise the gods we really are (The sum of all lost balance) Once the war was fought Returned to find that he had lost his call No map or light to guide him He struck out against this angry world Lyrca caught a light And tried to chase it through the waterfall With a gasp she rises soon to find that she is all alone Dawn is bright, her Sister evening quite lachrymose Every day divide the Sun with night above the angry world Governess, with silent Eyes behind spying spectacles Watches Lyrca as she Wills the murderer to the Storm Always with time's twisting line Hid in the eyes drifting sigh Lit from below and above The face of my love Hold up the sun with both hands Sift through the layers of sands Push back the waves with your mind My love divine If you go following the line Systems and stars will be your guide Come back to me and be mine Forever my one If you climb the clouds hold the sun with both your hands If you split the earth carve anew the sea and land If you find that heaven is still not enough To fill you my one Been pacing places in search for weeks Gonna take a crack and break this downstreak Going on a Hong Kong escapade Finding time to fuck with the NS of A Been skulled by some cheap Lapland dance Tried to fight back but missed my last chance I don't Mind the Gap I don't tow the line The eye of truth don't need to read my mind It's mine (Reprise) Part of the key is the faith of our peers As a presence leads Though a valley of our fears And they stand Like a crown Of roses and thorns To whom we've been reborn Something tells me there's no bringing back the years we've lost Wasting time by trying to find the path were really on Something breaks and all of faith goes flying 'gainst the wall A waste of life to compromise the gods we really are.
ok mr keely, that your reply went by largely unnoticed saddens me. you are a hero to me and TOD lyrics are among the best quotes I repeat, to this day. thanks
Didn't think they could top part2 but after 3 or 4 listens this is amazing. When are these guys going to get the attention they deserve, Love the the prog feel of these songs and I believe their strength lies in their sheer musical inventivness now...
I got stoned mere minutes ago and am listening to this for the first time. Couldn't manage to find a copy to buy but Tao of the Dead is one of my fave albums of theirs.
Me too. IX is alright, second half is particularly good, but this is among my favourite releases of theirs. X: Godless Void is also amazing. Can't wait for XI
Is it just me, or does the melody that starts around 8 minutes (and is repeated a few times) sound just a little too similar to the theme from Wheel of Fortune? Seriously. Maybe the gang had a toke while watching Wheel and then forgot about the source of that melody that got stuck in their head? Ha. In any case, great song, I always get excited when ToD has a new one out.
One of the most intense pieces of music I’ve heard in a long while.
I love this song 🎵 🎶 The lyrics tell us that most of us waste our lives not taking the road less traveled 🧳
Tao III lyrics
Part of the way is our faith in ourselves
Where the paths grow vague
Through a deep and dark descent
Where theres sound
All around
Drags us down
Part of the test we must enter by ourselves
To that garden place where only self remains where
There's no sound
Only one
As silence comes
When we've lost our tongue
Something fails and all of faith goes flying 'gainst the wall
A waste of life to compromise the gods we really are
Will you walk me through the waste
Would you guide me cross the plain
Would you help me to escape
Would you climb me the peaks
Gazing down
At the world
Spreading out
Like a map upon the clouds
Something tells me there's no bringing back the years we've lost
Waste of time to try to find the gods we really are
Something fails and all of faith goes flying 'gainst the wall
We waste a life to compromise the gods we really are
(The sum of all lost balance)
Once the war was fought
Returned to find that he had lost his call
No map or light to guide him
He struck out against this angry world
Lyrca caught a light
And tried to chase it through the waterfall
With a gasp she rises
soon to find that she is all alone
Dawn is bright, her
Sister evening quite lachrymose
Every day divide the
Sun with night above the angry world
Governess, with silent
Eyes behind spying spectacles
Watches Lyrca as she
Wills the murderer to the Storm
Always with time's twisting line
Hid in the eyes drifting sigh
Lit from below and above
The face of my love
Hold up the sun with both hands
Sift through the layers of sands
Push back the waves with your mind
My love divine
If you go following the line
Systems and stars will be your guide
Come back to me and be mine
Forever my one
If you climb the clouds hold the sun with both your hands
If you split the earth carve anew the sea and land
If you find that heaven is still not enough
To fill you my one
Been pacing places in search for weeks
Gonna take a crack and break this downstreak
Going on a Hong Kong escapade
Finding time to fuck with the NS of A
Been skulled by some cheap Lapland dance
Tried to fight back but missed my last chance
I don't Mind the Gap I don't tow the line
The eye of truth don't need to read my mind
It's mine
(Reprise)
Part of the key is the faith of our peers
As a presence leads
Though a valley of our fears
And they stand
Like a crown
Of roses and thorns
To whom we've been reborn
Something tells me there's no bringing back the years we've lost
Wasting time by trying to find the path were really on
Something breaks and all of faith goes flying 'gainst the wall
A waste of life to compromise the gods we really are.
Thanks!

One of THE best bands nobody's heard of. A shame.
Fucking A. What an intense, trippy journey they take you on.
Status update, I think it's the best thing they made in the last 8 years, it really is THAT good, I love it!
It's always good to listen to good music :)
Hell yeah. And it's usually bad to listen to bad music. Shit is deep.
Thank you for sharing! ^_^
Damn! I would give a lot to see this live and in person.
live. and>? in person??
Thank you so much for posting this.
4 years later... once again thank you so much for posting this. Great release
I’d enjoy listening to this stoned

I recall it was crowd funded.
The lyrics of this song say most of us waste our lives not taking the road less traveled 🧳 I think Michael Tsarion calls it the Sid Arthur Road.
That drum passage evokes Sepultura's Ratamahata (sp?) for me!!!
(said passage about 5mins. into the song that is)
awesome EP, love it! so much emotion
I feel like this is what Tao of the Dead was meant to be.
Not too shabby
Can't wait for the new album!
Same here!
I like it more than IX, so much SWAG.
Me too. IX is alright, second half is particularly good, but this is among my favourite releases of theirs. X: Godless Void is also amazing. Can't wait for XI

Trying to think of it I can only come up with the jeopardy theme.
Maybe just you?
