Hey man, I have established a backyard putting green (creeping bentgrass) and I bought a used vintage Jacobsen PGM 22. It is retrofitted with a honda GX 120, so the engine is nice. I am brand new to reel mowing, and I have so many questions on bed knife adjustments, roller height / height of cut adjustments, and I don't know where to start. Could you help me out at all? 10 to 15 minutes of your time would be great.
Does the paint brush need to be on the reel for sharpening to happen, or is the compound between the bedknife and reel when the sharpening is occurring?
Great tip I really appreciate it man I just bought one of these machines.
My first Jacobson I’ve got three pieces of Toro equipment as well
I do my adjustments with the mower running as well. Like you said.. you can hear the Contact..

Compound isn't really sharpening so to speak. Its more or less preserving the reel, cleaning the reel, and maintaining the edge sharpness
Pl, what is the name of compound?
It's been a few years since I worked on those machines and did any backlapping. But I do know the compound was purchased through R&R products
