    The way you edited this to show us the circuit and the actual board broken into parts was the coolest amp-related thing I’ve ever seen! Thanks!

    You are doing a great job with these video's. Thank you so much for doing this. I am a huge Duane aleman fan and it is cool to see what he might have used. Without your video's it's hard to see how loud those guys actually were. I think he used a 50 watt super bass. They must have been super loud in use without an attenuator.

    • @JohanSegeborn
      @JohanSegeborn  9 лет назад +1

      ***** Thanks man, yeah in a normal sized room a super bass is just to much. Even a 50 watter at full volume (just a couple of dB quieter than the Super Lead/Bass) is to loud. 20-30 watts is feasible though.
      Cheers
      Johan

      Johan Segeborn I bet! I always wondered how loud it was at the fillmore east! I have a mesa F-50 and the video you did on the rectifier and JVM to make them sound plexi was very interesting. Makes me think about moving to marshall but I love the f-50. I am a blues/country /rock and (gov't mule ) type of player.

      ***** Hi, the sound on stage was probably quite unpleasant. My super lead is about 100 db at 2 feet, when set at volume 2-3 and attenuated down to 5 with the Weber Mass, so at full volume unattenuated, we're talking jet plane :-)

      Johan Segeborn Wow. That is Loud! I would never be able to play that loud in any venues I play in. Can't imagine what it was like back then. Sure does sound good recorded!

    • @JohanSegeborn
      @JohanSegeborn  9 лет назад +1

      Yeah in smaller venues, they sure needed a dedicated audience. But people took music more seroiusly back then, so many were probably ok with it.

      Thanks, I think it were intended for vocals and speech mainly. Interesting question, what did they actually use these for?

    Hi Johan,
    Great playing today. I like your new (to me) riffs. So... This one is very interesting to me. I agree with your comment "as thick as it gets". My Vintage Modern gets a similar fat tone that's pretty close to this. I guess it's the KT66's. I like it, but sometimes, with the gain up in HDR, it gets a little muddy. I have an eq into the front and it helps, but I think in the end, I'll have to get another head. I love the 1959 but I guess it's a bit too much for any stage I've ever played on, mostly small bars. So either I have to get into a popular band or get a smaller head. Maybe 2061? But, those just don't have the oomph that I really crave. 1987's are pretty potent as well, maybe 2204 is the way to go, I had one once, and wished I still did, but.... Anyway, thanks again. You rocked this one!

      Thanks man, yeah the VM has the same type of sound but not as open and punchy. I'm gonna demo a Germino Masonette 25 next week. It sounds very much like a superlead but at lower volumes, check that out. A model 1986 bass is good too and I think they sound plexi-ish all the way into the late 70s. I know the 1992 does. Cheers

    Hej, den lät inte alls illa!! Skulle vara kul att se detta i en clinic.. Kanske på en mässa nära Göteborg. Tror du skulle dra ganska mycket folk. Jag skulle i alla fall åka mina 40 mil. (Sounded great, would like to see him demo this in a clinic, near Gothenburg)
