@@nerassmallerchannel5619 Funny thing I have noticed.
Throught the entire series, we are made aware that the Hollowed form is the form deprived of a Soul OR when said Soul is too damaged. And it's confirmed and verified when we find Gwyn and the Nameless King and a few others that this is the case. So for the Sable Church to Worship the Dark yet have a faith that seemingly worships the absence of the Soul... I'm inclined to believe that the Usurpation of the Fire ending is akin to returning to the Age of Ancients.
Also... anyone noticed how the theme of Death is so very strong within the Sable Church? Like more Death than the actual Dark? They Embrace the Curse and curse the Living too, yet in the Ringed City, we find lots of hints that the Civilization closer to the Dark actively fought the curse. The Purging Monument as well as High Curse Resistant gear of the Knights (forged from the Abyss itself) is indicative of this.... even more interesting that it's referencing that anything born and forged from the Abyss betrays a smidgen of Life.
When you cross-reference the two cities (Ringed and Londor)... they are starck contrasts... almost like one is unknowingly worshipping Death and the Other is Pure Dark. I feel this DLC revealed a bit more of what the Dark can do as well as the true source of the curse itself.
Also... not all Pilgrims become Pilgrim butterflies, in the same DLC, we learn that they can become the Angels too... which ironically command Light as well. A a neat tidbit, the optional Dark Lurker Boss in Dark Souls 2 resembles an Angel and it is an ancient Abyss creature... perhaps the Angels of Dark Souls 3 are merely withered or young forms of a full Angel yet the Dark Lurker is the Apex?
EDIT: Something I forgot to mention regarding something the video mentions: The Sable Church has Velka's miracle, yet through the questline to gain Sorceries for Londor, we can see they are willing to steal knowledge and materials for their own cause. Even going as far as to lie to obtain them.
Also... of note. We don't know why Patches hates Clerigy... but they are associated with the Gods, and it's pratically infered by the Ringed City gear that despite being subservient to them, they didn't join the war willingly against the Dragons, they wear Abyss filled cloth around the eyes in subtle defiance to the Gods binding of the Dark Soul... and we know that the Curse was instilled unto humanity by the Gods and the Dark Armour of the Knights has the HIGHEST RESISTANCE to curses. So... I don't know Patches could be just the Mascot... but also the Furtive Pygmie since... well, he has lasted for a REALLY long time in a world where the only ones who seem to endure that long are those of great power.... and the Dark Souls Primary Concept is "Want"... he claimes devoid of all that yet... he clearly acts by his own wants when we meet him (to loot us, have us as costumers and whatnot)

I like how both theories of what happened to Smough are their own version of terrifying.
In the implied version of his ending, Smough, most hated of all of Gwyn's soldier sans perhaps the Nameless King himself, was the only one loyal enough and devoted enough to remain in Anor Londo. He would finally achieve his honor as a Knight, but only in his actions of defending Gwyndolin from Aldritch and perishing in a gruesome, unholy manner that meant nothing in the long run.
The proposed theory of Smough being Aldritch, however, means that the short-sighted nature of the Gods led to the creation of a monster so powerful and evil that it would even consume the last of the Gods and their entire legacy itself, inadvertently dooming them all the second they allowed Smough to even wield a weapon in their name.
Eeeuugh just really icky tragic stuff.

My least favourite theories in Dark Souls are those trying to identify the furtive Pygmy. I don’t think fromsoftware ever wanted to draw attention to him, other than the fact they he split the dark soul which gave way to humanity. Hence why they call him furtive. Manus was just a primeval, first gen human who went berserk and birthed the abyss. Velka is the goddess of sin and, because of that, knows what Gwyn did was a sin (the first sin) and that’s why she helps the undead from afar. Trying to identify either of them as the furtive Pygmy takes away from their already cool character lore.

I’d be more inclined to think the furtive pygmy is the one who greets us at the beginning of the Ringed City. Maybe the other pygmy kings are his descendants, and he (as the original) has come to see the folly of trusting Gwyn. Which could also explain the missing throne, as maybe he was cast out once he grew tired of the Ringed City’s indulgences.

This is the description for the soul of Aldrich
This to me is one of the biggest mysteries in DS3
When Aldrich ruminated on the fading of the fire, it inspired visions of a coming age of the deep sea.
He knew the path would be arduous, but he had no fear. He would devour the gods himself.
be very curious if any of this where to be a key part future installments

    • @illseeyaonthedarksideofthemoon
      @illseeyaonthedarksideofthemoon 2 года назад

There is this theory that explain the age of the deep as a flooding of the dark souls world, much like the biblical flooding, the human dregs (that are a physical manifestation of sin) are causing the deep (a body of water that resides at the base of the world) to overflow and will eventually induce a flood for which Aldrich decided to prepare by devouring gods and obtaining their power, protecting himself and his subjects. There may be signs that this is already started to happen at the end of the game, as in the dreg heap are enemies who raise from the ground, covered in barnacles and wielding the most powerful version of the deep soul spell, the great soul dregs.

Theory: The Untended Graves are in the past. Main reasoning: 'Iudex' is essentially latin for 'judge.' This means the title change between 'Iudex Gundyr' and 'Champion Gundyr' appears to be very literally a job title. My guess is 'Iudex' is 'judging' the player and 'champion' is 'competing' with the player. This, to me, implies the untended graves are in the past, because you're technically facing Gundyr as an 'equal.' In the future, he no longer has an objective, so he instead passes judgement on those appearing 'after' him.

I don’t know how much I believe the idea of Velka being the Furtive Pygmy, but it would add onto the whole equal-and-opposite/balance thing going on with the original Lords.
Nito was a man and possessed the Soul of Death, the Witch of Izalith was a woman with the Soul of Life, Gwyn was a man with the Light Soul, and Velka is a woman with the Dark Soul.
Each is perfectly reflected in its opposite.
2 men, 2 women, and even the “good” aspect to “bad” aspect is balanced.
In the Gwyn/Velka pair, the traditionally “good” aspect of Light is represented by the man and in the “bad” by the woman, but with Nito/Izalith the “good” (life) is represented by the woman and the “bad” (death) by the man.
    Balance on all sides.

It would be absolutely the greatest thing if Patches, was Lapp, and he was the Pygmy. But he's just a FromSoft "staple". His first appearance is actually Armored Core 4. Still think he's a perfect fit, tho. (Also, nice Berserk music drop at the end.)

I didnt think the pilgrims were religious. The church in the souls games is connected to the light not the dark. The pilgrim is very much a dark character. They did not die in the way death ordained so they made the pilgrimage to lothric to find out why they are undead and to end the curse. They were denied access to the afterlife their faith was supposed to afford them. So the go on the pilgrimage to fix that situation

It is also possible that Nameless king had a brother who inherited the war idol status. So Faraam and Sen could be brothers. Based on Gwyn hating dragons it is logical that Sen as well as Faraam fought dragons as war idols. And Lightning has to do with gwyn, not directly with sen and faraam. Gwyn fought the dragons with lightning spears so sadly this doesn't give away further detail. So in other words. It is up to you if he's Sen or Faraam. Could he be both? Possible. Maybe the Faraam people had a different name for him. But the ring suggests further sons who could become war idol.
P.S.: As they are not almighty and based on polytheistic beliefs i find calling them idols more suitable. So if someone got confused what idol means. The term idol comes from idol (e.g. statue) worshipping.

What I think about slave knight Gale is that he could be from dark souls 1 and even dark souls 2
I believe that truly that as the curse goes on as we saw with patches one would forget who they once were but clearly they can still remember how to fight and such.
I think what may have happened is that Gale was a slave knight in 1 and with the linking of the fire of the first game things went back to normal at least for a bit.
I the beings able to return back to lift and he from the ring city no doubt he and the others just stayed there.
We don’t know where the Bearer came from all we knew he was looking for a way to end the curse maybe a way to TRULY end it but found the result was the same so again left.
This caused him over time to lose more and more of memory forgetting himself,
Another idea is that armor he chose to wear when finding it because it suited him he was a slave to the will of the painter after all

The Rotten was already some poor bastard who discovered the remnants of Nito, and was overcome with them, becoming a distorted reflection of the old gravelord. Also what little we know of who The Rotten was before encountering an Old Soul, implications suggesting he was either the king of Shulva, or poor Pharros, don't line up with any other parts of this whatsoever.

Aldrich was a cleric, maybe Petrus of Thorolund? He did become obsessed with taking humanities from others(and I think he got his friends' humanities while leaving them in the hollowed state we find them in the catacombs) during Reah's quest. Petrus also wears a "lesser" type of equipment of Smough's, heavy cleric armor + morning star, if he did kill Smough and obtained his soul + equipment and maybe his taste for humans then he could become something else entirely. An example of this is Horace wearing the executioner equipment and becoming a murderer or Lautrec believing he was indeed embraced by Fina and doing the same things.
