Thank you so much. Yes, that evening is deeply in my heart forever. So far that was probably my best day in the Himalayas. And I'm glad that you commented this.

Your video is one of the most detail and thorough review I managed to find in RUclips. This video is really underrated. Keep up your good work and hope to see more video in near future.

I travelled a lot in my 20’s and i actually really remember the vibe….when everything seems new and wonderful compared to boring old home.

Very beautiful views and timelapse. Can you please describe your settings for Ama Dablam timelapses. Sunset and night.

Hi and thank you. I don't have RAW time lapse files, but for a sunset definitely that was iso 100, something like f/8 and a shutter speed to expose the image properly. During the sunset I was changing my shutter speed manually, though I guess it's better to shoot in aperture priority mode with -0.7 or -1 exposure compensation (for that particular scene) - just to protect your highlights. For the night it was iso 2000-2500 (it's just a noisy micro 4/3 sensor) , f/3.5 - the widest A for my cheap lens and 20 or 25 seconds SS.

That deep rich colour of the mountains on top of Nangartsang Ri . From Makalu all the way to Cholatse. Patient is indeed a virtue when it come to weather. And what a reward it brings. Amazing photography that make one speechless indeed. Thanks Max 🙂

Really amazing light and clouds you had for looking at Ama Dablam. I know the feeling of being up high in the mountains when things are perfect like that. To me, it is like being a child again, when the whole world was new and exciting.

Absolutely! Maybe that evening is my most vivid memory of the whole trek and climb.

I love trekking and taking pictures of the night sky.
It's more detailed and more realistic than any other video about trekking in Nepal I've ever seen.
Wasn't it difficult to descend after taking landscape photos at night?

thank you, glad you liked the video. I absolutely do not encourage anyone to hike alone, in the darkness, especially in elevated and remote areas and when all the other hikers made it to the trailhead hours ago. So I just took that risk for a sake of night photography and stargazing. I knew though that the trail is quite obvious, there's pretty much no way to get lost if you have a compass and a headlamp with spare batteries. I would say the descent wasn't difficult but still it had some risks.

Hi amazing trek,! What you will say its the less demanding in climbing meters every day? Normally its easy just rest/ sleep in any lodge without reservations right?
What month did you did it, what will you recomend?
Finally its possible to climb island peak paying permissions but without guide? If not there in Nepal how much can cost it? Thxs

Yes, you usually don't reserve a lodge. But for Island Peak you need a permit, and AFAIK it's pretty difficult to get a permission to climb it without a local guide, just let's say with your climbing comrade. And you should be an experienced mountaineer for that. Usually guide service costs around 550-650 usd
