My dad really worked very hard for raising us. He wanted us to be well educated, settle down & lead a very happy, healthy & peaceful life. He is no more with us. My dad is an eternal hero to me. The reason behind our success today is our dad's sacrifice & hardworking. Love you always Dad
My dad was a laborer. He paved the streets in NYC. I was very proud of him. My sister and I went to parochial school, all the way through high school. I was disappointed my dad, whom I knew loved me very much, would never go with me to the father/daughter dances. I found out when I was older....he didn’t own a suit, and couldn’t afford to buy one. He sacrificed much for us. He’s been gone 30 years.....I miss him everyday.
I lost my dad 5 months back..and after he passed, I realized he loved me so much..he and my mum left no stones unturned to fulfill every wish of mine...i can never understand how parents can love and sacrifice so much for their children

There is no shame in honest work. My Dad once told me, "Son whatever you decide to do be the best at it." Funny that the old man got smarter the older I got. Love you pop!
Every job has a dignity. We as and our children should accept the fact and face the reality . Parents go through such a state to fullfil their responsibilities .
That's just a lovely beautiful touching story! Father risking everything for the well being of his family and the matured daughter who takes care of him in the most adorable way after her college is simply wonderful. Thank you!
That is just what parent's do. My mom worked hard to take care of me and my brother. It was a good ending to a story of how people can be family and not share a bloodline.
I remember being in Liverpool UK one day and sat down in the main St. A cleaner came along and I moved my feet to one side so he could sweep up. I've never done this before but felt I should thank him for the work he was doing, he looked surprised and said "well it's a job". No it's not just a job it's something important we can't all be teachers, Dr's, lawyers important as they are. But without the people willing to do this sort of work what would our towns etc look like in no time. I realised that day how we need to value the men and women who do mundane jobs and contribute a lot.
I once had a job interview where the interviewer asked me what I thought was the least important job in the company. I looked her dead in the eye and said there was no such thing. Every job is important. From the CEO down to the janitor that cleans the toilets, every person has a role to play and that role is important. I got the job I was applying for.
Tear in my eyes . Father’s love for daughter , coworker’s love for their colleague , daughter’s affection for father & his coworkers reflects the world is filled with love . If everybody follow this there will not be any confusion breaks in the world . Excellent share
I knew a street sweeper once. He was a really special guy. He told me it was a great job. This guy was mega friendly, he kept an eye on everything & everyone. He was the heart of the streets he swept. He looked out for lost children & elderly people who needed help to carry things. He gave real attention to the areas he swept & the shopkeepers noticed & would come out with hot coffee & snacks for him. He knew everyone & would spot strangers & would talk to homeless people & tell them where they could get help. That was in Portsmouth at the end of the 1970s. I hope he is doing well.
This is so beautiful that I cried my heart out. You are such a great man! I remember my dad too, he sacrificed his own hunger just so,we have enough food to eat. He tried to give us everything so we will not starve and he sent us all to school, I can never repay my dad but during his last days of his life we gave him the most ultimate care and love that it is engraved in our hearts his sacrifices made just so we can have a better life. Thank you dad. I love you and miss you!
It's never wrong doing any jobs as it pays the bills and puts food on the table.... it's the perceptions of the human race to look down on such jobs.... forgetting every job has its importance in the everyday maintenance of life...
Being grateful is the most important thing you can give to someone who helped you. Life is so short and we might as well use it for good and to love others.

We were taught to drop litter , at secondary school, so that the street cleaner would have plenty of work .because what other job would be available to him, if the town was always neat and clean. Turned out the teacher that told us this had a father who swept the street.
I dated an officer on a cruise ship, she introduced me to the chief engineer (co equal to the captain in merchant service), I found that his wife who was also on the ship's crew was a cleaner, she did this to be with her husband. All crewmembers ate in the same mess, no special one for officers. I had a lot more respect for Norwegians after this, America is not a classless society, we are mobile but our situation pins us to a specific class until we more up or down.
What a beautiful story. My father told me how he was struggling throughout his life, he send all of 6 children in university ,I pass and worked few years, but the health problems arise that no doctor could cure me. Because of the divorce I wasn't able to finish my degree. 9 years of night school down the drain. But my kids were almost out of their schools and did well those last few years in Public Schools. Mainly because of the education they got in the Private School. They both went to their Colleges and CLEPT out of a lot of classes because they already learned the subject in Private school. They are doing well now. I struggled with myself for 10 years as a single parent for most of those raising my son. And finally after child support was done I was able to get my life back together. I remarried, 26 years now, and my new wife, a College Graduate from a Prestigious College are doing well in our retired life. I learned how to invest when I was Poor and how to manage money to get ahead. I drove old cars and lived in modest houses. Still do! But I am much happier now that I ever would have been had my 1st wife not divorced me for her $Boyfriend. That (her) marriage lasted only 3 years. She is now on $Husband #3. I like him though. He's a good Guy and is good to my kids and grandkids. So all that to say this. Just because your life is not perfect and you have to struggle, learn to better yourself by believing in yourself. And never stop trying to grow and become a better person. Love Life with all it's bumps and bruises. Those tests in life, and how you react to them, determine wh you really are. God Bless all of you who are struggeling with your selfworth. Hang in there! It does get better if you never give up on yourself.
