Not only is she an authentic Italian, she REALLY embodies South Philly Italian! I'm from Philly and worked with a LOT of South Philly Italians and used to go to their houses for dinner all the time. She is AWESOME!

Sicilian (American Italians) and black families are so much alike you wouldn't believe it. I an African American and she described my family living room growing up with plastic on all the good furniture and the lamp to the T. Also, meals at my grandmother's house with all my aunts, uncles and cousins. Southern family.

As an East African she described my family to the T. That’s exactly how it was at my house too growing up in a East African Muslim family. On the weekends all my uncles, aunties and cousins would come to our house and from morning time to midnight my mom and all the women would be cooking none stop. Watching my mom make yummy food made me a good cook. I love the similarities between cultures!
She's honestly always been so pretty loved her since parent trap, people need to put her in more things because she's hilarious. Love Abbott elementary!

As a black man from a black family I can relate to her upbringing to a tee 🤣🤣 my grandmother had a dining room that no one was allowed in. It had a long table with a decorative linen table cover and it was set with the best plates and cutlery but everybody had to eat at the kitchen table lol

Love her and her character❤ Abbott Elementary is a really cute show. And they are drawing attention to the fact that our public schools are very under funded.
She's one of my favorite characters from the show. Loved hearing the two go back and forth about their Italian roots and traditions... it felt like they were having a genuine behind-the-scenes discussion rather than an tv interview.
I’ve been crushing on Lisa ever since her sitcom My Wildest Dreams, and she’s still drop dead gorgeous.
Her talking about her grandmother and the endless cooking and plastic on the furniture sounds exactly like my own late Italian grandma. Loved how she and Jimmy totally had the same experiences growing up Italian. Abbott Elementary is awesome - can't wait for the new season.

It’s funny I am also an Italian American, but from a totally different culture over from the north. And I spent most of my life in Italy, surrounded by real Italians. And it’s so interesting to see what is universally Italian, what is Sicilian or Napolitano that has come over and what is just this specific Italian American, New York culture that has grown on its own.
She’s the mom & friend we all need ❤❤

My Jewish grandma had that room. It's the one where my 3 sisters and I sat awkwardly on the piano bench for family photos. When both grandparents passed, my sister took the couch and chairs, (I took the marble tables and "the lamp") and once she removed the plastic, the fabric responded to actual oxygen by quickly disinegrating...
