Huge crush on Michael Caine, a great actor! Loved him in ‘83 ‘Educating Rita’ with Julie Walters. Michael’s 90 years young now.

I first saw this movie at age 18 as a youngster from Texas when initially going away to college. The movie itself and Michael Caine in particular unbeknownst to me actually set me on a course in my life time to further visit and explore many parts of the British Isles and most everything about Anglo history and heritage. My first experience with the "telly" there was just as Caine described, very little variety and mostly educational. However, they did broadcast a lot of old British movies that we had never heard of in America but I found them supremely entertaining, especially in their dialogue. Caine himself of course has gone on to become the excellent actor as predicted by the people in this old clip of the Merv Griffin show.

Classic example of how not to do an interview.
