  • Every once in a while I like to make easy to follow tutorials. This is perfect for a beginner but it is also fabulous for someone who has to make several albums in a hurry.
This album uses the Lay Flat Cover method. The album is 7X7 and the pages are 6x6. I also show you step by step how to make a hinge. There are also pocket pages and I show you how to add magnets to the pages. The albums in this series all have pages that you could use 6X6 paper, or cut down 12X12 paper.
There are other album tutorials in this series, the first one does not have hinges and is just as easy to make. Check out that tutorial also. Let's Make a Mini Scrapbook Album Beginner Tutorial showing you how to make a 6.5 X 6.5 " Mini Album

Here is my story: in 2019 I sold my house and everything in it and moved into a RV. The plan is to travel all over the US and enjoy the great outdoors with my husband. We chose a RV model that had an extra room with bunks, but instead of bunks I have a desk and drawers. It is a small craft room, but I enjoy crafting in between hikes.
I love paper and enjoy making memory albums. Subscribe and join me as I craft my way around the US!

Thank you! I’m happy to have found you. I follow Tiffany and found you. My sister and her husband sold her home and traveled in an RV with their 4 girls all over the US for a year. They loved it. I hope you are really enjoying your travels.

Good tutorial! I haven't seen the spine put on that way before. I'd only seen people joining two pieces of paper together before placing the chipboard. I think I like this way you have here. The spine looks really nice on the outside and you dont have to deal with folding over multiple layers of paper over your chipboard. Thanks!

I am glad it was helpful! I still use the other method you described, especially if I am adding ribbon or something on the spine, but this method looks crisp and clean. Thanks for watching!

This one of my favorite sizes. Sometimes I make it 6.5 x 6.5 because I have lots of 6x6 paper. Also 6.5 x 8.5 for 6x8 paper. Thanks for your video.

I think my favorite size ( when using 6x6 paper) is actually 7x7. I like having room for tabs when I make hidden pocket pages. And the pages could be 6 1/8 x 6 1/8. But there are so many options!

First time watching and I love your tips. I always struggle with the base and spine, sometimes to much gap, sometimes not enough, but you make it so much easier. I will definitely try your method, thank you!!

Glad it was helpful! If you have any questions please let me know! But remember that I live and travel (and craft) from my RV, so I don’t always have internet. It might take me a day or so to get back to you! Have fun creating!

Hi! I used 87 lb weight cardstock for this album. It is Artisan Linen Cardstock from Country Craft Creations, whom I design for. I also might use 65 lb cardstock for my albums, I didn’t use it on this one.
Thanks for asking, I’ll be sure to mention it in upcoming videos.
