This is the best album making tutorial I have ever viewed. Ginger Ropp was a total wizard with making and decorating mini albums and a Graphic 45 ambassador(God rest her soul. She dies during first big COVID event). Even she was not as patient and meticulous in instructing making a mini album. Thank you so much. I learned quite a bit of the "little things" that make for a professional finish from your video. Must see for anyone that likes to make mini books! Thanks, Denise
Oh you are so kind. I think Ginger introduced minibalbum making to so many people. I was inspired by her on so many levels. I am humbled by your comments and I am so glad I was able to inspire you. Hugs!
Thank you so much for listing the measurements in the description! I know it takes you extra time so I really am grateful. 😊 I work better when I have a "cut list", so I can cut everything out ahead of time without having to watch the entire video and hope I take the right notes, lol. This getting old is no joke 😳- My brain just doesn't brain like it used to!
Wow! I love the way you make your spine of the album! There's nearly no risk of it tearing or ripping especially when using 65# cardstock. Your hinge system is genius too! Tfs! ❤
Well, if you apply liquid adhesive too close to the chipboard in the spine when you go to attach the front or back cover ; it can crack. Ask me how I know, lol! But thank you so much!
I am really enjoying this simple tutorial. It’s great. I just wanted to mention that when you use your bone folder to burnish it is leaving a sheen on your card stock. A Teflon bone folder will greatly reduce the sheen. They are more expensive but in my opinion they are worth it. Now I will finish watching your video.
Hi Kim! Yes, I have made the switch to a Teflon bone folder since I made this video! ( I would redo this video but so many people find it helpful) Thanks for the hint!
I really like how you put all the “Base pages “ of the book together first. It’s great ! That way when you decide what the theme is , you get to do the fun stuff , without having to think too much -lol
Yes, I do the base pages first. Some people decorate before they put them in the book, but I’m sure I would mess up the intended order, so I decorate after the book is together.
I have made many photo albums, but now that I have seen your tutorial, mine will be so much better. Thanks for all the tips and great video. I hope to see more of your work again soon.
Excellent tutorial, very methodical, accurate and well thought out. I especially enjoyed the way that you assembled the album. Very impressive presentation. Big hugs x
Shari, that is an awesome idea! I keep looking for the perfectly sized mini album and I realize that it changes every single time! Thanks for watching!
This is great! I will probably watch several times while I make my album. I have decorated pre-made albums but I want to make my own and this is perfect to start with.
I enjoyed watching and learned a few new tricks. Thanks for that. My only criticism is you kept going out of camera range. I was craning my neck trying to what you were doing. But I really did enjoy this and will be working on one soon.
What is 6 and 15 16 by 5 to cover the spine not sure at all very new at this measurement This is a Great tutorial and will you have a tutorial on decorating with measurement Love to make this😊
Hi Lori! Thank you so much for watching. Another way I could have said that that measurement is “cut just a teeny tiny bit less than 7 inches” and then add to the inside center part over the spine to help hold it together. I hope that it explains it. Incidental, I do have a newer video in my channel showing you how I make the cover now. There is nothing wrong with this video, but like most people, over time we change our ways. I don’t use scor-tape as much as I use liquid adhesive. I’ll link it in a second for you. Thanks again for watching and have fun creating!
If I don’t want to use the lay flat method with this do I have to make any changes with paper or chip boards or with making the hinge system? Thank you
Hi Lisa, I used the basic tutorial and made this mini with it. Hope that helps. PS sorry it took me a bit to respond! ruclips.net/video/WqWmgn16Frw/видео.html
I made my shims by cutting 7 pieces of cardstock 1 inch each and then glueing one on top of another until I had all seven pieces glued.....Same for the 1 and a half inch one....The acrylic ones were too pricey for me.....
I've been making mini albums for almost 10 years (off and on) and I have to say your use of full sheet ScorTape sheets is a genius hack for saving time and keeping the air bubbles out. I used to use the double-sided tape for all four edges but this is time consuming. I also watched carefully how you trimmed the excess paper and slightly mitrered the corners instead of a 45 degree cut. This too, is genius since the fine edge needs to be "pushed" into the corner. Shouldn't the shim for the long side of the spine be 1.5 inches rather than 1.25 inches? Also, in your written supplies the spine reads 7 x 2.5 inches, yet your video shows 7 x 2.25. May I ask for clarification please?
I noticed that too about the measurement for the spine. Is it 2.25 as noted in the video, or 2.50 as typed in the description? 🤔 Hopefully she'll come back and answer.
Yes, on both counts! After I wrote it I changed the measurements to include a larger spine, so try 2.5. The shim should be 1.5. I can't take credit on using the scor sheets, I scraplifted that practice, lol! I am sorry that it took me so long, I am not sure why I didn't see this earlier. I apologize and hope it didn't stop you from using the tutorial!
Hi! Here is a link for CountryCraftCreations.com for the tape: www.countrycraftcreations.com/collections/adhesives/products/scor-tape-3-8-inch Thanks for watching!
I cut out this album today. There was a LOT of waste paper. The design certainly didn't take letter sized paper into account. I pretty sure there would be almost the same amount of waste on 12"x12" paper. The finished product is lovely in the two results video. I wast intrigued by the slip in page flaps. But there were places where you had a difficult time fitting papers where they belonged. This is certainly not for beginners. I suspect it will take several days to complete the gluing. I will not use this pattern again, just because of all the wasted paper. Many of the pockets didn't even fit on the scraps..
Hi! I am sorry that you were not happy with this tutorial. I do appreciate your feedback. Like most makers, the creative process is always changing and, I hope, improving. I have made not one, but two updated videos to how I create my mini albums. I hate to delete this video, because so many people have saved this version. But I will add a comment in the description box to let viewers know. You are correct that there were many scraps, but I never throw them out and usually make tags or photo mats with them. Thank you again for your feedback.

I've made many but there are some great tips here!
Thank you Pam!
Thank you for info on the hinges and binding system
I hope it helps you in your creative journey!
Thank you so much for this easy to understand tutorial. I feel like I can now make one on my own!
You are welcome Cynthia! You can do it!
Great great tutorial, thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Glad it was helpful!
Great album. I may change the side to 5x7 and use as a recipe book.
Shari, that is an awesome idea! I keep looking for the perfectly sized mini album and I realize that it changes every single time! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for this tutorial. You make it look so easy. Great directions! 5Stars*
Thank you, Sue!!! I so appreciate the kind comments!
This is great! I will probably watch several times while I make my album. I have decorated pre-made albums but I want to make my own and this is perfect to start with.
I am sure you will do fine. It is a great starting point, but also allows you to add elements to make it appear more difficult. Have fun!
This turned out awesome. I need one to do a recipe album with and this is something new for me.
So a suggestion for recipe albums- most recipe cards are 4x6, you might want to adjust the size, maybe make the pages 6 3/4 x 6 3/4? Just a thought!
@@Project39MiniAlbums That is exactly what I am doing. Thank you for your response.
Oh fabulous! Sounds like a fun project!!!
I LOVE THIS
Thank you so much!
This is a great video, the step by steps are easy to follow. Nice size too! Thanks!!!!
Thanks for the feedback, Pam!

Thanks for letting me know. I have a new set-up to avoid that next time.
I appreciate the feedback!
This is so GREAT!!! Thank you so much for sharing. Love how you made this book. 😊

If I don’t want to use the lay flat method with this do I have to make any changes with paper or chip boards or with making the hinge system? Thank you
Nope, just cover how ever you want and continue as usual. Great question.
Did you do a video on decorating this one? I'd love to see it.
Hi Lisa, I used the basic tutorial and made this mini with it. Hope that helps. PS sorry it took me a bit to respond!

This is awesome! Great way to use up those 6x6 paper pads I've been hoarding. :D
Yay, thank you! I am almost at the end of my 6X6 stash..But no fear- I just bought more!
Love this size! What brand chipboard and cardstock do you use?
Hi Mitzi, thanks for watching. I generally use Grafix medium weight chipboard and 65 lb cardstock from Michaels.
@@Project39MiniAlbums Thank you!
beautiful. what would you price on something like this?
