Rewatching after Jannik took a rocket to stardom and the improvements he made since he played this amazing match is astounding. I knew he had gotten better, but watching this match after the AO final and the Miami final really puts things into perspective. That’s where dedication and hard work takes you, I guess.
I was there for the most electrifying match ever, have watched the extended highlights a few times and here i am watching the match again.. i just can’t get enough of the brilliance of these two. Just phenomenal tennis
@@pawshands9706 How can he get any better than this? He has everything and is perfect at it, he may just adjust his second serve… the fact that he’s 19 just goes to show he’s very premature… Sinner on the other side has a lot to improve, first of all his physique
could be argued that this is one of the top 10, perhaps top 5 tennis matches of ALL TIME. Both guys wanted it SO bad. Absolutely worth losing several hours of sleep to witness this absolute EPIC. Highlight after highlight. Latest finish ever. Patrick McEnroe for ESPN said this is the most full he had ever seen Ashe past 2AM, including the previous latest finishes in history. one of those nights that, as a tennis fan, you will never ever forget.

I never fully appreciated what an amazing tennis player Jannik Sinner is until this video. He's got such great hands at the end, so cool. And what character Carlitos showed by not giving up and fighting his way back. This and AO '22 final are the matches of the year for me, hands down. Big thanks to the US Open channel for uploading full matches!! A treat for tennis fans. 👏👏👏
Thank you for the full match. Opinion confirmed that this is a classic match for history. The ending of the second set worth watching over and over again.
Having been beaten by Jannik in their last 2 meetings, Carlitos really gave his all. Barring injuries, these 2 are gonna give us quality matches for the next decade +. SENSATIONAL!
This is what I commented on about a month ago when the highlights came out. Grateful that you guys made this legendary match available for all to re-watch~ Unreal content
This is hands down the greatest match I've ever seen in my life! I can't recall the last time I saw a match where both players were this athletic and this creative (and ingenious with their shot selection) while striking the ball so cleanly for pretty much the entire duration of the match. This, for me, was the unofficial final of the US Open 2022. It's a shame that Sinner was only awarded quarterfinalist points and prize money after this performance. If he had ended up on the other side of the draw, he would've almost certainly made it to the final.
Totally agree, man. Best match I've ever watched in my life. It had everything. Will never get tired rewatching and the start of an amazing rivalry for what is sure to be an awesome next era following the Big 3 Era
Sinner was Alcaraz’s toughest opponent at the US Open. This match literally could’ve gone either way. You can’t say that for the other matches Alcaraz played.
Incredible match !!! Watched it till the morning here in France. It was also incredibly painful as i was all behind Jannik !! Tennis is ruthless & Congrats on Carlito
Man, it was like whoever dropped the ball a inch short immediately went on the defensive. This was literally offense--defense--offense. They didn't allow each other to even breathe for a second.
@@hello-mv6yg Yes, but it was one of the highest level matches I've ever watched. Right up there with Nadal verdasco AO2009, Nadal Djokovic AO 2012, FO 2013
Thank you, thank you, thank you 🙏🙏🙏 US open...I've been waiting for this one. My top 5 list. Tennis from another dimension at times. Surreal ball striking
3:39:26 Sinner really choked this because he was so scared of Alcaraz's full speed court coverage. I bet he would not have thought about putting it THAT wide if it was different player. CA chokes to make it 2-0 1:37:45
I couldn't believe how Alcaraz saved match points and break points when he was under massive pressure. Sinner on the other hand made a lot of unforced errors in those occasions. Sinner was devastated after the match. I think he thought he should've won but he lost because of his own mistakes. That's difficult to accept for a player this young.
I came to see Alcarez but jannik, you have won my heart ❤( heart of an older lady). Blessings to you. Your maturity make me awe through out the game. Alcarez love you too and blessing to you. May both of you play many more amazing matches in future too.,
Most amazing match ever of two young superstars of the tennis world. Just an incredible match to watch. The strategies these two have are just incredible….awesome! Congratulations to Carlitos for becoming the youngest champion ever and great #1 but also to Sinner for being a great competitor….
This match was incredible at the tennis level really, but we saw the mental shortcomings of Sinner in this match, Alcaraz mentally did not collapse mentally if there is a comparison to ne made between these two players, the mentality is on Carlitos’ side for me, even if Sinner won the Australian Open.
I would say that Sinner has mentally closed the gap with Alcaraz especially with his current run right now. I don’t see Sinner as nervous as before. And winning the AO title will allow him to be calmer now in pressure situations. The one thing that Alcaraz will always have the advantage over Sinner is that is that extra gear physically. When Alcaraz has the momentum or he is playing at his highest gear, then he is hard to beat even for Sinner.
Sinner-Alcaraz matches in GS always comes to mentality. And more often than not its Sinner who blinks first. If Sinner corrects on that i feel he will have more slams than Alcaraz
What an amazing match. So long, and so late. It seems inhuman to expect these guys to play until 3 in the am. Surely they can change the start times. I've come here from watching more recent matches - this is extraordinary in many ways.
