well done jon,enjoyed the vid!
I would in quite times put a fat lob under the far bank tree the features big chub hot day hideout. Although you can't knock a winner well done mate
Tight lines in the final Jon.
Another great video John still struggling with my go pro will keep trying
stunning water and weather would kill for this today it's horrible out
great honest vid that...you dont half work hard but you get the results..... id have loved to see you fish that hemp line with one of those softer 6 or 7m italian telescopic whips to hand with a flick tip.?
are these modern low diameter mono lines any good for river fishing. ? ive recently tied a few hooklengths -(just getting back into it) an the low diameter "silstar match team" line has amazing strength for the diameter, ... but they seem VERY fragile.... ive had a few very carefully wetted and tied nicely hooklengths simply snap when i test them.... im leaning towards the older bayer perlon and maxima. am i an old fart out of touch..?
Just use what you are confident with I think, but Silstar is not accurate (0.02mm thicker than stated) and Bayer/Maxima are definitely thicker than stated. But it's all down to knowing what each line is capable of, which comes with practice
Nice one Jon,Has the little lady started tying hook lengths yet????Best luck for the finals
well done sir
Thanks Denis! :-)
i enjoy these videos even though im not into match ishing.
are you allowed to use barbed in the river matches?
Yes barbed and micro barbed are allowed on most 'natural' waters.
Jon,what size rigs would you recommended to make up for the Avon, thank you
Evesham varies from 3ft to 15ft so you need anything from 0.2g to 3g for normal fishing, flat floats from 3g up to 6g if ligging on.
Thank you Jon
If you catch a pike what net do you put it in
None, it goes straight back as they don't count in most matches.
Your little one is very bonny, John!
Nice win Jon but far too much footage of your knees! :0)
Ha ha, my mum says I've got lovely knees!
