Some of the best selling products in the world are a better version of the first. The same is true with investing. It's your money at stake so it's in your interest to have the most experienced fund manager handle it
I was in a dilemma for investing in a NFO, after seeing this vedio my decision was clear, thanks sir for well articulated and factual presentation...tq
I just love your insights, the way this man (just love him) explains things. So professional ET money. Please keep bringing these videos. Loads of love♥️
Thanks for sharing this video, Shankar! You and your team at ET Money are doing a great job explaining investment industry jargons with these simple & easy to understand videos. Btw "NFO=Never found out" was funny 🤣
One basic but huge thing which I learned today is "price of a NAV" must not be considered as an important aspect in mutual fund scheme purchase. To be fair I'm having an sip in Parag parik long term equity fund but due to the low cost of NAV in DSP value fund NFO I was tempted to purchase it. One more thing I learned If I purchased that NFO it would have overlapping effect with my other mutual fund scheme and will have same benchmark.
A stitch in time saves nine....proved true after watching this presentation. I got very crucial information on NFOs. I had been planning to go for one of them.
NFO you have really cleared so many things about it I was also one who though ipo and nfo is similar but now I know better thanks a lot and I just love the way you explain shows how much knowledge and experience you have accumulated over time.
Sir , one question . If you go with this and all people stop subcribing the NFO than how the new entry will come into the market . It will be the monopoly of currently established fund houses and no new fund house say for example XYZ will able to enter with no subscriber to it .
@@ETMONEY Sir , It is of no use . The discount offered who is eventually going to pay ? NAV going to decrease by the discount amount so what is the use . Discount in this case is just a phycological only .

I invested money in ELSS mutual fund Nippon India tax saver fund ,year 2017 earlier this was known as reliance tax saver fund ... Good brand name mutual fund company become collapsed and best performing fund also given negative return..now a days Nippon tax saver fund have lowest ranking in ELSS fund ,one time it was top rank holder with high performance....so how can we predict and confidently say that year old mutual fund scheme always better than NFO .....some NFO come with very low expense ratio rather than year old existing mutual fund scheme best example is 2month year old axis global equity alpha fund of fund,EXP ratio is 0.39%.. So how you concluded that existing month/ year old Mutual fund scheme always better than NFO....
Sir how many mutual fund should be in our portfolio....some people said that 5-6 mutual fund scheme(with diversification) should be in our portfolio .....what is your count..
I don't know how I start loving ETMoney apps. Really the application is amazing. Even market has several apps, ET Money is the one which I personally feel best out of it. As like this video, how this expert advise us in the way which make us to think different in investment choice.
As you have said that we should not buy an NFO as fund manager has no experience but generally fund managers are experience holders and they have managed similar type of fund in another AMC and it often fund manager who has has given excellent performance in a particular fund leave the AMC and join another then what happens with track record as we have seen in Aditya birla AMC and loopholes and ignoring interest of investor in other AMC s also AXIS, Franklien
Thanks Sanjeev Kumar. We won't generalize like that because one way or the other, mutual funds will continue to have NFOs, distributors will continue to give enough reasons for people to invest, new concepts (like quant, ESG, special situations, REIT ... maybe cryptocurrency, deglobalization, fintech etc.) will continue to emerge and many people's investing patterns will continue to remain where they are. Everyone will continue to have their own point of view so we have just presented ours in this video. I can sum up this comment with what Albert Einstein once said: “Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.” I see truth in both statements.
