    Flying a narrowbody across the Atlantic: Done ✅
    We all know how it is to fly across the Atlantic on a widebody. Either it's an A330, 777 or even a 747, chances are that many people on this channel have done it already. But, very few airlines get to fly narrowbodies across the Atlantic, and the very few who do so are used to operate 6-hour flights, but then...
    Air Transat received their very first A321neo! This airplane is due to replace the airline's old and ageing A310 fleet for "long and skinny" routes to Europe and the Caribbean, reaching out destinations as far as Lisbon, London or Marseille from eastern Canada.
    Want to see how it is to fly on such a special route? Well get yourself some snacks, some drinks and enjoy the video!

    HELLO AND WELCOME BACK TO MY CHANNEL!
    As you might have noticed, I’ve decided to go for a completely new style of editing for my trip reports. I decided to ditch the old “Image and Subtitles” format for a more active and interesting voice over format, that many people seem to prefer as it is easier to watch.
    Now that you watched the result of this change, let me know by replying to this comment whether or not you enjoy this format! Cheers! 😃✈️

      The A321LR is not a perfect replacement for the A310. I want the A310s back on Air Transit and the A321LRs should be retired and moved to the Air Canada fleet

    Absolutely in awe of an A321 NEO, NOT THE XLR, flying westbound across the Atlantic with a full IFE system and full international catering...Boeing has failed the narrowbody market.

    • @HWme
      @HWme Год назад +1

      Your comment is just no that clever, CATERING is up to the airline, and IFE is ALSO up to the airline, NOT the plane manufacturer. With that being said, I do think Airbus has superiority in single-aisle airplane market. WHIST this depends on the airline, you can get the same or better catering in a narrow body plane, and you can get a seat in economy that is even more comfortable, for example A321NEO has 18 inches of seat pitch compared to 17.1 inches on the Boeing triple7, legroom would probably stay the same if the plane is flying long routes. IFE, WiFi, Seat Charging port, and decent comfort can be catered both in an A321 and a 787, although I do understand why a widebody is more appealing, with a wider, more exciting cabin, bigger windows (787, A350 and 777), more lavatories and a more special feel.

    • @NovejSpeed3
      @NovejSpeed3 3 года назад +6

      You do know Airbus didnt make those engines right....? All they did was install them on their aircraft and change the programming of their fly by wire and flight management computers to use the new engines.
      What I will complement Airbus for is keeping the 321 in production even when the 757 line was closed down

      NovejSpeed3 the a321 never competed with the 757 it was always a short to medium haul aircraft, only the neo lr and xlr are long range airbus narrow bodies which are to replace 757’s

      You mean CFM and Pratt Whitney made the most silent engines. The latter also made the engines for the A220 (then Bombardier C series) which are also very quiet from the cabin.

      Jamie Slaney Hey! Thanks for your comment, I didn’t get to use the overhead lockers since I was only travelling with a backpack. However on our way in (YYZ-LGW), our flight was delayed by 30 min due to a lack of space in the overhead lockers, and we needed volunteers to store some of their cabin luggage in the hold. What was the seat like for comfort? I have knee and back problems so would probably benefit from a wider seat that I can also recline more. Have you flown West Jet, BA and Air Canada? If so, is there an airline you would recommend? Sorry for all the questions but I’m starting to seriously plan this now! Xx

      Hello Cathy! First of all, thank you for watching and I hope that your trip to Canada will work! About Air Transat's business service, they do offer something similar that they market as "Club Class". If you want to see a video about Club Class on the A321neoLR (which is the plane used for LGW-YYZ flights), I invite you to click on this link! ruclips.net/video/a7HtAnRiAOY/видео.html
      About the other airlines, I have flown many times transcontinental with Air Canada and I never found them to be that great, so I wouldn't recommend them for their economy class. Also, I have actually never flown WestJet or BA. In terms of pricing, if you're looking for something cheaper, I definitely recommend Air Transat. If you want something in the middle, WestJet is the way to go! Anything above that (Air Canada, British Airways) is a step up in terms of pricing. I hope this helped you out and if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask!

    Air Transat lost my luggage on my way to Europe last month. When I arrived, I was told that I would get it the next day, so I was stranded in Europe without my belongs - not even a toothbrush, deodorant or a pair of pajamas - but didn't buy anything. They said my luggage would arrive the next day, and buying stuff would mean that I would have to take it back home too.
    But my luggage never arrived. I kept calling the numbers they provided, and no one ever answered. I e-mailed the addresses provided, and STILL haven't received a response. When I was finally able to get a hold of a laptop, I completed a claim form (the form wouldn't submit from a smart phone). The airline ruined my trip. My luggage eventually arrived after 11 days. Days after I had returned home from my trip. When it did arrive, the telescoping handle on my brand new luggage no longer worked - so I have to buy a new suitcase too. I was never refunded the money they charged me to check my baggage. I was never compensated in any way, not even for the stuff I had to buy. I have never received an apology. I've never even been contacted by the airline. WORST. AIRLINE. EVER.
    But the purple ambient lighting on the plane was pretty.

    My TripAdvisor review ...
    My review - from LGW to YYZ:
    Difficult to assess my overall star rating. So breaking the star reating down:
    ** timeliness
    ** ground staff
    **** aircraft
    **** cabin crew
    *** entertainment
    *** food
    The flight (TS122 on 2/14) was almost 4 hours late leaving. Late in from YUL where it was delayed because a door froze due to the “extreme” weather and same happened in YYZ. Maybe the reason but nonsense as the airport wasn’t littered with other aircraft suffering similarly.
    We purchased the option plus upgrade which was worth it as we had the first row in economy with lots of legroom. Seat width was a tad more generous than often and overall comfy. Nice cabin lighting but not as good as Boeing’s 787.
    One caveat - this is a (new) Arbus 321LR - a single aisle aircraft so the cabin isn’t as high and airy as on the twin aisles but that’s okay. What is an issue is the overhead space smaller than the larger aircraft. This is an issue for those miscreants who stuff large bags and other stuff there and several passengers had to have their bags checked from the cabin. I believe the upcoming XLR will have larger bins.
    The maps froze - until I sussed that I was perplexed why the Sun had come up while we were supposed to beover Nova Scotia! Video collection limited. Meal okay.
    We landed in another UK storm however, the pilot aced the landing.
    Would I travel TS again? Sure and especially considering the competition includes the abysmal Air Canada.
    www.tripadvisor.ca/ShowUserReviews-g1-d8729014-r745596122-Air_Transat-World.html#
