I do wonder what the immediate effect of the battle’s outcome was. What the papers may have said and how the colonial public responded. I wonder at this because while I do understand that a populace’s determination to see themselves through a war is a due to several factors. I do think however that certain things can influence this determination very strongly, the most recent example I can think of is the patriotically resilient image that Zelenskyi projected by staying in Kyiv while it was under assault and marched on. Perhaps more people decided the American revolutionary war was a worthy endeavor as they saw the outcome of this battle?
