I am so grateful for your channel. My portrait game is def on a whole other level these days. Although, you make it look effortless which i have not mastered yet lol. Thanks man. Always appreciate you
Good morning brother Mark, another very nice tutorial brother. I must say with scratching I’m getting better and more comfortable. All I can say is you gotta and I do mean you GOTTA practice. At first you could see my scratching. You gotta get a Page where we can send our art work. And that way you can give advice to your members Mark. Now when I scratch you don’t see the harsh lines. It’s an art of its own that you have to master. In order for you eyes to look real. I had to learn practicing soft Scratching. It took me some learning brother. I can watch you all day but the learning part. Is practicing, practicing!!!🎣🎣🎣
Hey, thanks so much for another awesome tutorial, Mark. Quick question: I'm struggling with a particular feature of a portrait: there's this bright light (from top) that makes model's lips slightly transparent. Same (the transparency) happens with ears and palms/fingers sometimes, especially with kids. Would you be curious to do a quick study / master class on this one day?
Thanks Serge! I know what you're talking about. Here's what I do for something like that- I try not to think of it as transparent or anything logical. I just focus on what I see. Like everything in painting it's just an illusion of values next to each other. Zoom in on the lips or block out everything else in your reference, and just focus on those subtle value changes you see. If you copy them, your painting will naturally give you that effect of transparency. I hope that makes sense. I'll see what I can do for a future video as well!
@@theartworkshop It absolutely does make sense, thank you. Moreover, as I recall, you've already mentioned just focusing on values. Thought there might be some other 'trick / technique'.🙂 Thank you for the quick reply. Can't wait for the next tutorial.
I'm curious if anyone knows this....can I paint / airbrush with inks / candies pigment dyes without adding the binders that setup in time, so I can set the art piece off to the side for, basically, any period of time and then return to the piece and continue the art to completion? Then, after completing the work, set the ink dyes with a clear coat? What do you all think? Just checking b4 investing in the process. Thanks
@@theartworkshop Roger that......I have some Createx candies and I assume it should be the same principal so I'll spit some of that and let it sit a few days and I'll see how it goes....thanks for the help, and of course your work is invaluable to teaching us your styles. I have taken many of your reviews and put them to work....peace

thanks!
Do you ever clean or wash your skin texture template that you made? Do the holes ever plug up?
rarely. Once in a while if I need too though
Thanks, just curious. I need to make one also.@@theartworkshop
amazing tutorial ! Can you make a tutorial on a cat-like drawing?
Thanks Dany! I do need to add a real animal/pet portrait on the channel like a dog or a cat. Maybe someday!
@@theartworkshop that's great! may I find you on Instagram?

Sorry, I can't help you since I don't use dye based paints. buy small bottles and test it out before investing anything!
