I really really needed to hear this. I had an emotional breakdown yesterday, and for the first time in a couple of years I broke in front of my boyfriend. I cried and cried because we're stuck in a terrible situation... I was listening to nothing but muse songs yesterday to help me get through, and eventually after my boyfriend reassured me that everything i blame myself for i shouldn't, I had a decent day until i went to sleep. When i got on youtube this morning this is the first thing to catch my eye. I play it and... It hit me. The emotions. The words sang so sweetly, the guitar and everything else. Thank you, Matt. I understand why you are more inclined to sing songs like that. This is a very difficult year and music is often our only consolation. Young enough to have never owned a Walkman, but old enough to still prefer CD's and physical media (in movies, music, and video games) to digital, however most of the music I listen to is downloaded/streamed. And yeah, I think the Showbiz CD released in Japan had Spiral Static as the bonus track since it came out later than everywhere else, but funnily enough Spiral Static is my least favourite Muse track (off of any mainline album, including bonus tracks but not counting some early B-sides at least) 😅
I listen to Take a Bow and get deeply down in darkness and hopelessness of my memories...and I then I listen to the Bridge and it heals me and gives a hope for better for as long as you have someone to lay down for you and as long as you are there for someone, there is a hope, there is a way. So powerful. Both songs. Songs of my day today.
