Dorie, what a wonderful video. I love hearing how you plan out the quilting, practice on the clear plastic, find your thread path, and then go with your plan. This is beautiful! ❤️❤️
Thanks! You can find the plastic on my website at www.Forever-quilting.com , under Shop>Notions. It comes in a roll or a 20" x 25" square. Being new, you may also find my book Making Connections very helpful.
No never have. I put blue painter's tape around the edge of the plastic so I don't draw off the edge and I only draw on one side (I have that side marked "Draw"). I will also periodically clean the plastic with rubbing alcohol to remove the residue.
Thanks for replying so fast. I worried if one didn’t clean it good enough when you rolled it up and used it again it might have residue transfer to the back.
Welcome. For the roll of plastic, I draw in the inside. And I'm extra careful to clean it good before I roll it up. You could also use Wet erase markers if you need to leave the marks on for a longer time.
At first I used a black dry erase marker to try out the designs on the plastic. Then I used a stencil and white pounce powder to mark straights lines on the fabric. This powder is removed with a hot iron. You can find this on my website under notions at forever-quilting.com .
Love this design!

Thanks! I love it too!! This is available on my website.
I love the hearts and will need to practice them, for sure. Great job, as always. 🙂👍
I love the design elements
loved the design and so simple, do you know where the fabric can be bought.
Thanks Terrie! I think these fabrics were from Kathy's stash.
New quilter here, so I loved how you planned on plastic! Where did you get the roll?

do you ever get the dry erase marker smudged on your quilt from the plastic?

Is your camera mounted on the machine?
Yes it moves with the machine.
What kind of pen/pencil are you using? Can I buy it on Amazon? My pencil/ chalk marks don’t come off that easily. I have to wash them😒
