Hi William, I really like that mini harpoon 😮 I picked up the Kubey JL fixed with drop point 14c28n . I switched out the tec lock for a strap . I too like not having them poke me in the side all day . Thanks for the video wishing you and the cats a great day 😊
@dand3329 Thank you. All the cats have been fed. Buddy stayed inside most of the day until I got an Amazon order delivered. Even with the TV on for background noise, he heard me open the door, and he wanted to go roam.
I never owned a Sharpfinger before starting a knife collection. The rather small sized Western L48 (around $5.00 new in 1971 - $40-$100.00 today depending on condition...lol) was my go to small fixed blade for nearly 20 years guiding in the backcountry (accessible wildlands, forests, mountains, rivers, and just plain wilderness). Extended time required a bigger knife as I surely learned but that sweet little L48 was all I needed most of the time...until I lost it. ☹
@bdh3949 it sucks losing a favorite knife. I lose stuff in a small apartment. 😒 The last time I went to the store, I left my brand new rain jacket behind. It was lightweight and small, and it would roll up into a little sack that is easy to leave behind while packing groceries onto a scooter😝 🛴
I watched my 70 year old neighbor skin his Elk just before the holidays. He and his wife get one every year. He lined up 3 Schrade Sharpfingers, which he would switch out when he occasionally hit bone and dulled the one he was using. He had it skinned before I could finish my beer.
Great video good comparison for cheaper options. You got me hooked on the Harpoon 😅 i first got the larger one in D2 i like it so much i got another large in 3v then i picked up the mini in 3v, i do prefer the smooth blade on the 3v versions but the D2 is fine too the black coating is not too rough like it can be on some Tops or Esse. I like them all alot. 👍
Hi William: I carried a Schrade Sharpfinger on my hip all through my Alaska outback years. It was perfect for me. Not too big or too small and fit great in the hand. Since I’m a lefty, it was on my left hip slightly moved toward my backside. I never had a problem. Still have it although I don’t carry it much these days. 👍👍
@bishop6426 They are great and can do quite a lot. I not only wouldn't want to be without a knife, but I would not want to be without a different size and shape of knives. Variety is the spice of life.
So many knives made, one can always find a cheaper alternative. Shadow and Buddy are lucky, they have a private chef, and deluxe accommodation facilities.🐈🐈⬛😸
Hi William, I was hoping you would post a new Video today. I owned a Schrade Old-timer Skinner years ago and can't remember what ever happened to that knife. I did buy myself a Rough Ryder Bigfoot Hunter for Christmas. I like it alot and it's a good little Skinner. Not bad for only $8.95 I'd kind of like to get a second one. Thanks for posting stay warm my friend.
I have that Bear & Son. The B&S was 440 when I bought it. I think it was also made in 1095 at one time. It's a good USA made knife for a very affordable price in my opinion. I was very impressed with it and its sheath. The knives are small enough drop in the pocket. Horizontal belt carry would make sense or the sharpfinger if the sheath is secure enough. I like that Harpoon knife with the Kydex sheath. Really nice take on the Sharpfinger family. Nice to see Shadow is back and safe.
@@KnifeChatswithTobias I like that curved blade. If I didn't already have my mini harpoon, I'd make a sheath and carry a sharp finger or a cold steel roach belly in the same cross draw carry position.
Great video. Second time trying to leave a message i think yoytube is broken... Love the Harpoon your videos got me hooked on them, i have the lage in D2 & a large & a mini in V3 i like them alot the large & mini make a great carry for me, the coating on the D2 is not too rough like it can be on some Tops or Esse blade 👍
@JollyPeanut yes, I'm planning on getting the larger version in D2 and maybe the Deadpool colors red Micarta handle. I sent your package 📦 and it should arrive by Friday. I can't find your email, but I do have your mailing address. If you email me again, I can show you the tracking number. I was going to include some beach shells from Ultra Cool Spot Number One 😎 but I left them out of the package by accident.
@BIGHOUSEBEAMS53 Shadow comes by each day for a quick morning meal. He only stays long enough to eat, and then he wants outside. Buddy comes in early, like 3 a.m., and stays until the afternoon. The mommy cat gets fed at least twice a day, usually 3 times. I haven't seen most of the Colony.
Shadow looks like he's healed up pretty good👍This was a really neat comparison, and great points. Cheers, buddy!
@@davidkurle5418 Thank you, David.

@FlightDek Thank you. I've been under the weather, but it's warming up a little.
Rock on William !
@dwayneletterman3987 Thank you 👍
Those remind me of pointy boots, like Leningrad Cowboys from Finland used to wear, the band ;)
@linasmagnum We call those pointy cowboy boots in Texas cockroach 🪳 killers because you can get the tip into corners. 🤠😄
