This movie really takes me back to when i was 4, my aunt and me loved this movie. It really takes me back to more than a decade ago. Even though it's not a classic, it's still one of the best movies ever.

His mom got struck by lightning when she was pregnant with him and that transferred to him. He then became energy so he returned to the earth as energy because he knew it was time to go.
What a crushing disappointment that the last few moments of the film are not shown here and was cut from a T.V. version we recently saw. The last few moments of the film show Powder disappearing into the lightening strike and then his friends begin joyously and happily running around in Powder's spiritual essence in the field. Powder's friends are filled with wonder and joy as they play and frolic in the remaining essence of Powder who is now transformed into invisible yet palpable essence/spiritual substance. I had the very same experience when our brother died and his spiritual essence/substance was exactly like what the Powder film demonstrates but for some strange reason, the last few moments are not seen here. Makes me wonder if the film is just too weird, mysterious or FRIGHTENING for most folks to tolerate. There is nothing frightening or even mysterious about experiencing the remaining spiritual substance/essence of a "dead" person who is still absolutely alive on the other side. To feel and know that the dead one is still alive and the thrilling experience of their tingling, exciting and JOYOUS essence can prove it - at least to me and Powder's friends in the film. Perhaps I need to read the Powder book or contact the author of the film and book.

I really love this film, a lesson of "tolérance" (sorry but I don't remember the english translation of this word in french. All the actors are extraordinary and it's a very poetic story.
If I remember well the soundtrack is a Jerry Goldsmith's music, another great artist for a great film.
