Im a fellow AU resident playing EN and JP and I whale on EN and spend a bit on JP EN side no issue with spending my au credit card works fine JP side I had to make a JP google account, link my card, say the card is in japan (a lie) and just input my au cards details. one of my friends had to put in a fake address like the middle of tokyo (doesnt really matter since google play never send letters) but I didnt not sure if I was lucky or what but I have a JP google play with no address, an australian debit card and it charges my Bank in Yen and works no issues (also didnt need a vpn, did it all while here in aus) 👍
