“And also clear my thoughts to find the right shape” - beautifully captures a feeling I get at the wheel when I’m just not sure where my piece is going, so nice to know that even such an experienced potter as you goes through the same moments. One question: It seems like you would get a lot of water in the inside cylinder but I don’t see you sponging that out and even your thin sponge would seem too big for that. Did I miss something? Thank you much for the instruction!

Thank you for your comment! I was wondering I should include that sentence or not as it is more “ Thought” rather than technique. Maybe the viewers are not interested in. Now I am glad I mentioned 😊. Yes I didn’t include taking water with narrow sponge in the video just to make the video not too long.
How I did is just stop the wheel, use same narrow sponge slowly twisted and pushed down. If I didn’t stop the wheel the sponge may breaks the cylinder.
But best way is make one size smaller sponge for the cylinder 😉
