    Is Fox purposely trying to make this comedic by interuppting every word he says while simultaneously talking about free speech?

    • @ecstaticbanana1063

      +Gus Scott ha! As if the Communist News Network is better!? He is purposely defaming those who protect his right to do so. People like him do not deserve to live in America and should be thrown in a 3rd world shithole to experience life without someone protecting your rights. So, I ask, isn't it understandable that fox wanted to burn him and not let him continue on his hatred filled, ignorant path?

      +Langdon Harris, Oh the irony.....

    • @kogmawsmother4052
      @kogmawsmother4052 8 лет назад +24

      +Langdon Harris I did my time in the military, I'll tell you one thing, when I was stationed over in Japan for my time, I could just feel in the environment I wasn't welcome there, not only do they not want us on their land anymore because of all the stupid shit some of the people in the military do to the nationals over there, rape, murder, stealing, assaulting, all for no reason, especially in the recent years, we had massive liberty restrictions over there because of three idiotic people decided to go out, get dumb drunk, and decided to rape a teenager over there, and the entire military stationed over in japan had to suffer for these three people.
      Another instance, not even a year before that someone assaulted an old lady for 72 dollars in Yen. Not only do they not want us over there anymore, they're fed up with us, they just placed alcohol restrictions on everyone off base, not a drop of alcohol unless you're within your residency, no bars, no clubs, anything. They're fed up with us, the only reason we're over there is to be closer to Korea and China, the two countries that hate us more than the Japanese! If we continue down the path of trying to be the hero no one wants, we're gonna end up throwing ourselves in a war that we will not be able to win, we're not even winning right now with the fighting across seas.
      So yes, even though I served my country, I served because I had nowhere to turn too, a lot of these people that join the military join because they had nothing to look forward to after high school. The people that I worked with that had been in two times, even three times as long as I was in, joined right out of high school, they have no real world experience, they have no maturity, very few do. The military is just another high school, people acting like children, getting drunk right after work, even during work, drinking, hiding alcohol on the ship and drinking during the day, then going out at night and drinking even more, you know what happened? They ended up making some kind of retarded choice and everyone gets scolded because one person fucked up.
      One team, one fight is what I was taught, which is the dumbest thing i had ever heard before in my life because the only time it became relevant was when someone fucked up. Uh-oh, someone got pulled over for drunk driving on base? Well, now we all gotta take the dick with him because we're a team. There is very little common sense in the military brother, very, fucking, little. And if you served, then you have my respect, you did what the "one percent" of the U.S. does, it's not one percent, it's we'll take whoever we can because everyone knows we're fighting a losing battle. I did my time so I'm allowed to have my opinion about the military, because I lived it, saw it, breathed it.
      It's nothing better than working at Mcdonald's, if you can take a fucking order at Mcdonald's, you can work in the military, just with more stress than you can handle, less pay, less downtime, and a higher chance of suicide. So call me ignorant all you want, I did my time, and I'm entitled to what I want to say, when I want to say it. Hoo-rah.

      Yes, but remember Fox News only believe the freedom of speech is a gift. If you go back and listen over again you will hear him say it. Also he was there to explain something maybe what he had to say would roll over to answer the question. Yet they didn't allow him to speak for more than 30 seconds before they insulted him. I don't agree with his morales, but Fox News was in the wrong like they always are.

      +Jones he said they SHOULD be neutral, and they all should be. That's what it means to be a journalist and to present the news. Regarding 9/11, taking a neutral stance would mean just reporting the facts and not having every sentenced be charged with some kind of political message. That would mean reporting something like "At 8:46 a.m.(EDT) on September 11, 2001, a hijacked commercial jet (American 11) crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center (WTC) in New York City. Seventeen minutes later, at 9:03 a.m., a second hijacked passenger jet (United 175) flew into the WTC South Tower. Both towers soon collapsed, pulling down or heavily damaging surrounding buildings" (which is from Dummies.com of all places). Not reporting something like "Muslims murdered thousands of Americans, we must go to war now or risk greater amounts of casualties."
      There are no news sites/channels that are unbiased, but they should be. Don't you get sick of all the politically charged crap we have to sit through every day?

    bring a guy who has something to say about something and dont let him say the things that brought him there in the first place. he probably had atleast a few valid points but they chose to insult him any chance they could and made him out to be the bad guy instead of listening to potential fixable problems that he might have a weird better understanding of. they asked him questions and didnt let him fully explain even 1 thing, literally didnt even give him a chance

It doesn't excuse the others though... just saying that when dealing with FOX you pretty much need to believe that the more they talk the less likely the story/information is within context... possibly not even true. The less they provide commentary, the more likely they are actually providing facts... since the facts speak for themselves and don't need to be twisted, etc.

      Saddam was a dick, but the Iraqi government did not kill american civilians. However, the number of iraqi civilian casualties is in the tens of thousands even according to modest estimates. American military personnel took more innocent lives through collateral damage or otherwise in iraq and afghanistan than were lost during every jihadi terrorist attack on the US combined. Everything about the american invasion of iraq was horrible and the world would be a better place if it had not happened. also, i don't think you understand what a non-sequitur is.

    • @syzygonal
      @syzygonal 8 лет назад +1

      +Adam Berger Let's break this down:
      A. Saddam wasn't a "dick", he was a theocratic warlord who had a stupendous amount of political influence in said country, so don't go assuming they were separate entities.
      B. Yes, there are plenty of civilian a casualties and so long as we are pretending to grasp the enormity of that death toll and its moral implications, we might as well recognize that it was their own people who killed most of them.
      C. It was a non-sequitur: it didn't follow from what he had said previously, aside from being outright absurd.
      D. Yes, the war could have been avoided and should have ended earlier. I'm sure it feels nice to live in such a safe society that you can develop a pacifist's moral compass.

    I feel like that guy was trying to point out that; coercing citizens into joining the military by offering them "benefits" to then 'voluntarily' go fight wars that the government creates is what's wrong. Their wage and care packages are paid for by tax money, and the government is allocating the budget for it to the army, instead of putting the money into helping regular citizens. Basically if the benefits weren't there, would any soldiers sign up? And if no soldiers ever signed up, would there be any armies to even have a war? In a way it's a self fulfilling cycle. Besides there are always the crazies out there just looking to stir up trouble so you kinda need security. These moral dilemmas are never black and white. But you can see the news anchors already had their mind made up and weren't going to have someone question their beliefs. Good thing people can think for themselves though right? :P

      Let's say everyone was as smart as you are, for a moment. No one would be "stupid enough to enlist in the Army" right? You're entirely too intelligent to do that. Now..wait a minute. America, a huge nation with plenty of natural and industrial capability is left with no standing Army. A nation that wants those resources has but to walk onto our shores and take them. Believe it or not America didn't invent war or expansion, and the world isn't peaceful outside of your sheltered little life. A Military power has been a necessary organization since the first humans drew breath. Because people want what other people have. Since there is no denying that, the only thing you have to say is that yes, you are "Mr.Broken" Because enlisting, and being prepared to fight your nation's battles, whether you agree with them or not, takes balls. Things you clearly don't possess underneath your shriveled up dick. So this is me "being disrespectful to people who dont deserve respect." What a fucking idiot holy shit.

    • @merritt2014
      @merritt2014 8 лет назад +2

      And you don't seem to have a grasp of how the world works. In a world with limited resources and a power grab for certain position, pacifism only goes so far. You have to defend your Nation/Property/Values/Resources and so on. Not to mention our relations with other countries in the world. The military also acts as a sort of deterrence to keep other countries from fucking with us. I don't agree with everything they do, but be happy people are willing enlist so you don't have to get drafted like in other countries where it's required no matter what.

    • @MrBroken030
      @MrBroken030 8 лет назад

      Thats totally up to you who to respect and who not to. Im just saying I dont respect soldiers cause in my eyes a lot of them are clearly murderers by definition. There is no need to feel offended, im just stating my opinion.
      Maybe you could explain to me how soldiers are not murderers, gimme something, a real argument. Not this glorified pro war bs.
      "....Though you're free to be that, plenty of men Have died to make sure of it."

    there's a lot to dissect in this video. for example the flawed debate structure of fox news that prioritizes their own voice over responses, the way they attack him personally and then immediate contradict themselves by preaching about free speech, and finally the way they chose to have the discussion and then blame him for "wasting their time" when everything was their idea and their choice. nobody forced them to debate and there was no reason to even talk if they had nothing important to say beyond "i don't like your opinion so you're dumb".
    this video is an amazing example of how people seem to believe that a moral superiority grants them immunity to etiquette. it does not. it doesn't matter how crappy an opinion the opposition has. they win the second you lose your dignity.

They cut him off at every answer and the whole discussion was nothing but ad hominem attacks, moving the goal posts, and character assassination. They never once actually addressed the argument itself, only kept redirecting it or attempt to place emotional guilt on him for having an opinion they dislike. Political bullying. What was the point of them having the other guy on their show? just to bash him so they look better for standing up for soldiers by asking the guy to respect them?! its all a charade. John Smith But I'm saying you chose to enlist for the money. On your way through life its opened up other opportunities for you which can give you more than the military. It still doesn't change the reason why you joined or x games contestants do crazy jumps.. Money Talks

    • @JohnSmith-ir2ui
      @JohnSmith-ir2ui 8 лет назад

      Corncob Jenkins I'm glad you know me so well lol I didn't know that you can read minds? No buddy, tbh, when I first joined I was already 1 year in community college, and I wanted to do more with my life than just have a degree. I wanted to give back to this amazing country as much as I could because they have provided my family amazing opportunities when we immigrated from Eastern Europe.
      My other reason is cuss I wanted to be like my dad, tough, but a very loving family man, and he served in the military. So I felt like I was missing a piece of becoming a great man like him.
      And finally I want to travel the world, and I know that there might be a time when I find myself in a dark alleyway in Columbia or some shit ha so I wanted the tactical training as well.
      My parents were successful financially already, prior to me enlisting. I promise you money was the last thing on my mind. I started my own business as well & the military had no direct connection to that.
      So I make more as a civilian than I do enlisted in the military. Now if I wanted to be an officer then that might've been a different story.
      So no, I get that you're saying that, but that's not true and you're absolutely wrong lol
      PS, my family was not allowed to ask for any kind of financial help from the government as part of the deal for us immigrating here.

    He actually has a valid point, he's just saying it terribly poorly because he probably has light autism plus he wants attention.
    Those soldiers aren't protecting his freedom. This troll will be no more or less free if 10,000 soldiers died in Iraq or if we never even went to Iraq. The soldiers are doing nothing for him but costing money and their motive is not protecting our freedom but making money - that's why they join the military if they're honest enough to admit it. The soldiers are honored out of tradition, but that doesn't automatically make sense.
    I don't blame the soldiers and would never wish harm on them. Hell, my brother went to Afghanistan. But I don't feel that any of us owe them any special respect. They took a risky job for money. And though it's not their fault, that job is actually harmful rather than helpful to the world.
