THIS. ‘Cause is it annoying that people want the MCU to follow the comics like it's a damn law. I understand people fell in love with the comics and characters. But they are not the same. Is it inspired by the comics? Yeah. But the MCU and the comics are two different universes under the same entity. They are free to take liberties. (This is also the reason why gender and race-swapping aren't as big of an issue (for me). People forget this is a part of the multiverse.) I think some people are genuinely afraid of things changing. All WE KNOW is that RDJ is playing Doom. Anything else is a speculation that shouldn't be taken seriously. Folks are already trying to derail something when we don't know anything outside of that. It's fine to make assumptions, but it becomes a problem when you paint your assumption onto something that isn't you.

So at the start of the movie it’s gonna place a few hours after endgame Tony stark from another universe felt the power of the infinity stones so this version of Tony stark searches for the infinity stones until he finds something more powerful that’s what will turn him into doctor doom!
I'm extremely hyped too see his Dr. Doom. He has incredible range. And it's obvious they wouldn't have done this if they didn't have a plan. Despite what people think this isn't actually desperate. It's unique and smart. Let them cook!

It's true that other marvel actors played other marvel characters before, but this is different. This is RDJ playing 2 characters from the MCU, while other marvel actors played different marvel characters, not in the MCU. Like when chris evans played human torch from a separate universe, before getting the role of captain america in the MCU. This sounds so messed up. If you're going to cast someone as a villain that's replacing kang, atleast cast someone who hasn't already been in the MCU. That way it's not weird, confusing, and/or messed up. Not only did marvel screw up by intentionally killing off one of their most important superheroes in these movies, but now they're making it even worse by making this actor play someone else who's not tony in the same MCU universe. It's like marvel studios don't even care about iron man anymore. 😔

Hate to be that guy, but you know how in secret wars hulk holds a flipping billion-ton mountain range and has generous amounts of story time. With the russos we can expect for this not to happen at all.
The most upsetting factor is the gut feeling that disney will not allow rdj to keep his mask on for the money's worth, which litteraly will destroy the character because it's his entire thing. like imagine if if they gave ultron a moving mouth, giving him unnecessary human-like features that conflict with the design philosophy of ultron being the robotic monster inside of vision and the mistake bruce and tony made. i still wont get why they just had to make him look like a best-buy inbread micheal bay transformer for most of the movie... rdj is a phenomenal actor so he will be doing doom justice, but if the fans dont pressure on disney to make sure doom feels like doom, then we might get an atrocity that could be worse then the craptastic four's vomit powered tinfoil man because his actor was decent aswell. just a reminder, every practical scene of iron-man litteraly blinded rdj so all his acting was just muscle memory, he knows what he is doing with potraying doom and the ability to show eyes gives alot more emotion then you think, but we don't know if everyone else under disney will play their part because they get overworked or the team is poorly staffed, don't forget that acolyte happened.
I thought of a crazy plot for how they can introduce him. Imagine they are fighting Kang and Kang starts walking through a portal as a return but as he stops once he gets to the other side and looks at them and he gets stabbed from behind ( or like a green lightning that atomizes him). And then his body drops and a dark figure walks through the portal… a cloaked figure in green and some gold (no armour yet) and he takes the hood off and they see his face. Someone like spider man or someone who loved iron man a lot says “tony?” Or “Mr Stark?” And then they run up to him to give him a hug but he just tilts his head in a confused way and just kills them on the spot. (Whoever that is they can return in a later movie)

Tbh, I'm honestly here for it. People are automatically jumping the gun and forgetting that this is supposed to be a _variant_ of Doom, and not the main MCU version.
I mean, given how well RDJ played Strauss in Oppenheimer, I'm willing to see how this plays out.
All that we need for this to be perfect is for Doctor Doom's theme song to one of MF Doom's songs.
Honestly, I prefer if they choose a different actor for Dr. Doom but I'll give RDJ a chance because I can tell that guy has a lot of tricks up his iron sleeve.

Tbh the for and against arguments are all pretty fair; you could have just casted someone new to bring to the MCU. Plus it does seem like a hype move. But on the other hand, the interactions we could get between doom and characters that new tony well like Rhody could very much amazing. Plus who nows; The MCU fell apart after RDJ left, the reverse could happen with him back.

The Russo brothers said that RDJ is playing Victor Von Doom so definitely it is not a variant of Tony Stark .I think if they do enough make up and stuff(without beard) , he can differentiate his look from Iron man.Also RDJ is a phenomenal actor so he can definitely pull it off.He can be Doctor Doom of Fantastic Four Universe as that universe is very different from earth 616.

It's true that other marvel actors played other marvel characters before, but this is different. This is RDJ playing 2 characters from the MCU, while other marvel actors played different marvel characters, not in the MCU. Like when chris evans played human torch from a separate universe, before getting the role of captain america in the MCU. This sounds so messed up. If you're going to cast someone as a villain that's replacing kang, atleast cast someone who hasn't already been in the MCU. That way it's not weird, confusing, and/or messed up. Not only did marvel screw up by intentionally killing off one of their most important superheroes in these movies, but now they're making it even worse by making this actor play someone else who's not tony in the same MCU universe. It's like marvel studios don't even care about iron man anymore. 😔

The most upsetting factor is the gut feeling that disney will not allow rdj to keep his mask on for the money's worth, which litteraly will destroy the character because it's his entire thing.
like imagine if if they gave ultron a moving mouth, giving him unnecessary human-like features that conflict with the design philosophy of ultron being the robotic monster inside of vision and the mistake bruce and tony made. i still wont get why they just had to make him look like a best-buy inbread micheal bay transformer for most of the movie...
rdj is a phenomenal actor so he will be doing doom justice, but if the fans dont pressure on disney to make sure doom feels like doom, then we might get an atrocity that could be worse then the craptastic four's vomit powered tinfoil man because his actor was decent aswell.
just a reminder, every practical scene of iron-man litteraly blinded rdj so all his acting was just muscle memory, he knows what he is doing with potraying doom and the ability to show eyes gives alot more emotion then you think, but we don't know if everyone else under disney will play their part because they get overworked or the team is poorly staffed, don't forget that acolyte happened.

I thought of a crazy plot for how they can introduce him. Imagine they are fighting Kang and Kang starts walking through a portal as a return but as he stops once he gets to the other side and looks at them and he gets stabbed from behind ( or like a green lightning that atomizes him). And then his body drops and a dark figure walks through the portal… a cloaked figure in green and some gold (no armour yet) and he takes the hood off and they see his face. Someone like spider man or someone who loved iron man a lot says “tony?” Or “Mr Stark?” And then they run up to him to give him a hug but he just tilts his head in a confused way and just kills them on the spot. (Whoever that is they can return in a later movie)

No one knew he was there, not even the current residents of the house.
From his hidden vantage points, Jimothy could watch the family go about their daily lives. He knew their routines, their quirks, their secrets. But more than anything, he grew increasingly obsessed with the house itself. The walls held a strange allure, almost as if they were alive, whispering secrets to him in the dead of night.
One evening, driven by an insatiable hunger, Jimothy discovered something peculiar. He had been gnawing on a piece of wood he had found loose in the wall. The taste was unexpectedly good-sweet, with a strange, almost addictive quality. Before he knew it, he had chewed through the entire piece.
Days turned into weeks, and Jimothy's peculiar craving grew stronger. He began to nibble on other parts of the house, finding different textures and flavors in the wood, plaster, and even the metal fixtures. His appetite became voracious, and he started consuming more substantial parts of the structure.
The residents began to notice strange things: holes appearing in walls, beams weakening, and entire sections of the house deteriorating seemingly overnight. They called in contractors and pest control experts, but no one could find the source of the problem.
Jimothy, hidden away in his secret passages, continued his silent feast. The more he ate, the more the house seemed to call to him, urging him to consume it entirely. He felt an almost symbiotic connection with the old building, as if by eating it, he was becoming one with it.
One night, as the family slept, Jimothy had a realization. He could no longer deny his craving. He would eat the entire house. He started with the basement, chewing through the foundation. The house groaned and creaked, but he was unstoppable. His hunger drove him, a relentless force that could not be sated.
As dawn approached, Jimothy had devoured most of the lower levels. The house sagged and tilted, ready to collapse. But he didn't stop. He climbed higher, tearing through walls and floors, consuming everything in his path. His body, now twisted and changed by his strange diet, moved with an eerie grace.
The family awoke to the sound of destruction, panic spreading as they realized their home was disintegrating around them. They fled into the night, leaving the house to its fate.
By the time the sun rose, there was nothing left of the old house but a pile of rubble. Jimothy, now unrecognizable, stood amidst the debris. His transformation was complete-he was no longer just a boy who had hidden in the walls. He had become something else entirely, something that had consumed and been consumed by the house.
With the last remnants of the structure gone, Jimothy felt an odd sense of fulfillment. His hunger was finally sated. As he stood in the ruins, he realized he had no place to hide anymore. The world outside awaited him, a world where he would have to find a new way to exist, beyond the confines of the walls he had once called home.
