Always listened to Michael when younger. He sang to me at a concert. Recently, I started listening to this man's catalog and oh my goodness!... his music is awesome. One is more teenage pop and the other deeper with pop, blues, jazz, r&b, with little undertones of gospel. His work is better than Mike's imo. But hey, people feel differently.

The producers from this show have said that they were worried about the rain all day and called Prince to say that it was going to continue to rain and ask what he wanted to do (use a recorded version, for example). His response was, “Can you make it rain harder?” I think he knew that singing Purple Rain in the rain would be epic, and he was right. I miss performances from real musicians, too. Since you said you enjoy a good jam session, I think you’d really love a performance of Pass the Peas (the JBs tune) that Prince did in 2011 with Maceo Parker on sax. Or rather, it starts with Pass the Peas and turns into a total jam with Prince even playing bass. It’s so great!
