I take it that all true believers in Christ shall be called "saints", even those outside of the Lord's restored church. "Christian" while not a bad term, is still nickname to the more appropriate term "saint".
If its so important, will president Nelson please make Christ's name on the book of Mormon the biggest writing and not Mormon's name? I send this challenge out as a member.
What does the name of the book have to do with the name of the church? That would be like saying that the Bible should be named the Book of Christ, it's not necessary for knowing what the book is about.
Mormon compiled and abridged the previous records of history also engraved on plates to create one set of plates with all the significant and relevant messages. Thus: it is called the Book of Mormon. It is still clarified that it is a “Another Testament of Jesus Christ”.
My mother's father died when she was two. Both her parents were Mormon - her mother a convert, but her father's line goes all the way to the establishment of the church in Utah. My mother was "ex communicated" by the church for reasons I never got to know. My family was dysfunctional, and my brothers and I were put into foster care. The church didn't help us. The line of "family" was broken by death, and the Mormon church didn't step in to help. My mother was a victim of domestic violence and poverty. Her mother a widow. The Bible says to care for the orphans and widows! That didn't happen. Then fast forward to my experience, after surviving domestic violence myself, my children and I had missionaries come to our doors to invite us to church. I was alone and thought the people inviting me were good people. However, my abuse that occured against my children and I was dismissed. We were not protected nor supported, and to keep it short and simple the men in the Mormon church did nothing but judge me for choosing to be a single mother rather than putting up with domestic violence. Despite being a single mother of six boys, they mocked me for being poor, and made me feel like the poverty we were in was due to my poor choices - even though I was caring for six children, going to college full time, working part time, and suffering from Ehlers Danlos syndrome and PTSD. The Mormon church is not of Christ, and my sons and I will testify on the day of judgement to that!
Reading "The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" on a sign in front of a church near my home when I was 7 was the beginning of my testimony!
Mine was seeing commercials for "another Testament of Jesus Christ" and I wondered why everyone didn't want to know!
It thrills me to the core to hear the President Nelson testify of Jesus Christ and of His church.
Thank you, President Nelson.
This is an excellent talk by Elder Nelson now President Nelson. Thank you so much for posting it.
Thankyou
Christ himself said it is very important. There is no if about it.

I’ve always said the word Christian is a verb not a noun
😅

This was Jesus' warning about Whitewashed Tombs

Do you understand what you are asking?

Go for it.
I don't like being called Mormon. It's so disrespectful to Jesus Christ.
