Everytime I hear someone talk about the death of Peter Tosh, it reminds me of the Bob Marley, man to man is so unjust, you don't know who to trust. Up till this day, Peter Tosh still doesn't make sense to me.
The reason for his murder still remains a mystery to me. There is something deeper than they're letting out, this was a political hit. They can't find the two other men who were involved, what do you know? They return to space, they are nowhere on earth.

Bunny is on film accusing Rita Marley of setting up the assassination of Peter, because he and Bunny was due to testify against her over Tuff Gong. Then some say it is in retaliation to Peter's speech at the One Love concert. Then there is the dog Leppo story.
When Peter was in Nigeria a bush doctor gave him a protection and said he should wear it around his waist. In Copeland Forbes latest book Reggae My Life is, Copeland talks about the protection given to Peter and that Marlene wore that protection around her head. The Nigerian bush doctor said to Peter he has two women in his life, and one of them would cause his death. Love you Bush Doctor. The cause of this brilliant man's passing is unknown because it was so poorly investigated. ❤💛💚🖤

And another potential cause according to Andrew Tosh the k4llers was on coke and was looking for a quick money, so they came to Rob Peter. Imagine that if that was the case how come they didn't take more. They took a chain from Joy Freeeye's wife. They didn't take any thing more.

I love Pete Tosh. Belive me when I say there is no difference between somebody you love dies of bein' murdered or if they die in a helicoper crash. You never get over it and the pain never goes away. There was a story going around that this man/Peter's killer was a man who had taken a wrap for Peter and went to prison instead of Peter and to protect Peter. After having done the sentence and coming out of prison, it is said that Peter was ungrateful of the sacrifice that the man had made for him. Exhibited by Peter not taking care of him. (their words. I'm just relaying the story). Also said that Peter had told the man to take the wrap for him and for which, Peter will take care of him for the rest of his life.
This story does not sound much unlike the story that RAS has told here. It's just that these 'back story' details are not mentioned.
Even from this very presentation...It is clear that this man "Leppo" felt obligation and entitlement from Peter Tosh. He had gone to prison and felt hard done by by Peter after he came out of lock-up.
I've also seen Peter, and he was strange as ever. Is this Peter's inclination that became Peter's disposition? Or was it this woman's brew that caused him to be this way?????
I've also *heard* Peter's interviews. Something about Peter's head space was going on...

This story is not backed by any evidence, if jamaican goverment could take Peter to prison, they would, Lobban was just a primitive criminal who thought that Peter has a huge amount of money in cash, because Peter came back recently from New York, but Peter was broke at that time, because all his money was spended on lawyers on connection with his lawsuit against EMI

He will tell you how kind Peter was, and that Peter would give away his last. The filthy Leppo use to hang around all the artist a beg fi money. He did this to Bob, Mutabaruka and many other artists. Peter didn't involve his good self with badman. You got to overstand that Peter was the one out of the Wailers that had the deep religious upbringing. It is Peter who taught Bunny and Bob about Rasta. Bob became a Rasta when he came back from America. Peter and Bunny had already become Rasta. I think peters friend was paid to assassinate him, because if you carefully listen to his songs well, he was not happy how some people were treated at that time so Peter was always lambasting their wrong doing, what a world,if you speak the truth you will surely becomes some people's target,Rip Peter.

Somebody make a movie about this man. The Bob Marley one, looking at the trailer sucks because it doesn't go into the beginning. Maybe someone could authentically make one please. Both movies with Jamacian actors and casts.

I've heard a different story from a few people who seem credible. Lobban (man convicted of the murder) knew Tosh for years. A few years before, Tosh and Lobban were in a car driving and the car was pulled over. Apparently there was weed in the car and with Tosh's previous charge and run in with the police, Lobban agreed to say it was his and take the charge as long as Tosh took care of his girl and kids while serving his sentence. While in jail, Tosh didn't meet his promise and this angered Lobban a great deal. This is what prompted him to go Tosh's house to rob him, which then became murder. Im not defending this terrible crime and Tosh (nobody for that matter deserves to be murdered) but Tosh was a difficult man who angered many by his behaviour

@@molebitoteng1985 I love Peter Tosh's music and his guitar playing/songwriting. I was lucky enough to see him in concert in Toronto and I have all his albums on vinyl, so I respect his music. Often, for artists that I enjoy, I try to learn more about them. Clearly I didn't know the man and neither do most of the folks who publish videos and so on. We are all going on secondhand information. But, in looking into the man, it seems very credible that Peter could be a real jag off and he often felt that he was being disrespected or cheated. Nobody can deny that he sang and deeply believed in equal rights nd justice, but his approach could be quite harsh and it was he who often treated others with disrespect and contempt. There are various stories supporting (maybe they are false) of how he was jealous of Bob (from young, from when they got started, to when they became famous, to when he left the wailers and beyond) Peter made great music, but the reality is it didn't sell well. (like he felt he should of gotten) He had to tur often but got so difficult and demanding, that eventually promoters tired of his demands and behaviour. Which resulted in his not getting gigs on bills that brought in measurable money. He got angry about this and was never able to look in the mirror to see how he was sabotaging himself. He did the same to fellow artists who tried to champion him. Again, I like Peter's music and I think it was terrible what happened to him. There is no excuse for murder. But he was his own worst enemy.

Even in death the Steppin Razor evokes emotional conflict amongst men. The demonization of The Bush Doctor began from he sang Burial & Maga Dawg & it intensified following that peace concert where during hos performance he chastised Manley & Seaga with a slew of expletives for the state Jamaica was under their leadership. Later on Marley in his performance united the hands of both leaders, an image that became highly popular & earned Marley further endearment to the masses of Jamaicans who adore their political masters but look @ Jamaica now. From chastisement for Equal Rights to vindication thus Peace Treaty, Peter Tosh was unrelenting in his convictions. He was a force that Jamaica was not ready for then but resoundingly requires now. He had no equal as a person or a musician or a revolutionary, not then and never to come. He simply wasn't he greatest out of Jamaica, bar none. He simply was the toughest.

Rumor had it the two accomplices were local gang members who were killed a couple weeks later. Thought being it was street justice for men who had killed a legend.
@Reggae Appreciation Society your story is quite inaccurate Leppo went the jail because he took the rap for Peters illegal gun that was in the car they were travelling in. This incident with the law happened a few months before Peter went on tour to Europe but before he went he promised leppo and his family would be taken care of whilst he was in jail. Once leppo came out of prison he went to look for Peter and Marlene would shun and disrespect him every time he would visit their home till eventually he felt betrayed and frustrated that he had gone to prison for Peter and had got no recompense in which Peter had promised to take care of leppo once he came out of prison and he choose not to, it’s just unfortunate he had to pay with his life in the end. You may wonder where I got my information from but I personally im friends with leppo first cousin who was trench town resident who knew Peter first hand back in those days and he told me the story of what really went down and also he said Peters wife as well as his own temperament cost his own life because it could have been avoided had Peter stuck to his word.
