The worst sin any entertainment can be is boring. Mirai Nikki may be badly written and paced but it is not boring. If something is boring I feel like I have wasted my time but something that is bad can be made fun of, or just enjoy the trainwreck.
I don't know about you, but I prefer wasting my time on a boring show I forget in a month over shows like Mirai Nikki. I'd rathed stay indifferent than being enraged at the MC's stupidity. Actively hating on a show is not really something I enjoy, but watching it gave me no choice.
Nah, I was bored out of my mind and never finished the series.
I can tell you I totally wasted 12 episodes on this. Could not stand anymore of this GARBAGE. I'd prefer boring over garbage.
I liked the future diary IMO, not a die heart fan of it but some parts did make me giggle tho. The ending.. pretty confusing as time travel and shit, crazy girlfriend murdering herself, the mayer evil??

Yes I did waste 9 hours of my life watching all 24 episodes in one sitting, do I regret it? No.
It's the same deal as with SAO's original novel: it has a solid emotional plot, if you drop all the side plot nonsense and 2 years worth of semen. Expanded universe murders good stories, and Mirai Nikki got it's universe expanded in like the very middle of the story
This entire show is the definition of someone coming up with a cool idea in the shower and then making an entire anime without any more planning.

Maybe I am weird, I always got the vibe that Yukiteru was torn between being terrified of Yuno, and being terrified of what would happen if he was without her.
That being said I am terrible at reading social situations so this could VERY EASILY just be me projecting myself into Yukiteru’s place and misreading the situation.

Honestly I love the concept of future diary where random people are trying to eliminate one another so one of them has a chance to become god and it reminded me of death note but if the protagonist was pathetic and his GF constantly stealing the spotlight due to her obsession over him.😺
This anime was terrible and I loved it. We all got into the anime for Yuno Gasai, stayed for the battle royale eske story, got blown away by the plot twist, still rated it 3 out of 10 Yuno was the only good part, still enjoyed the hell out of it.
How dare you. This is not just a mediocre show trying to redeem itself with one cool plot twist. This is a mediocre show that is redeemed by one great character. No matter how mid Mirai Nikki is, I've watched the whole thing through like 4 times over, purely because whenever Yuno is on the screen, I have a smile on my face.

honestly never got the hate for this show. I mean I get everyone has their own opinions & taste but still. I’ve always loved future diary, still do. Then eventually when I saw anime communities online finding out that most people seem to hate it lol
Just reading this comment section I'm seeing more people that enjoy the show than not. Makes me wonder some big RUclipsrs made videos trashing it and most people just jumped on the bandwagon rather than have their own unique opinion. And by no means am I saying it was a masterpiece, it was just good fun. People really be acting like anything that's not a 9/10 is complete garbage....

I think it's the kind of show most people hate, but also secretly kinda likes and can think back to as something completely whack that they're happy they watched. Regardless of personal opinion on the show, there are 2 facts:
1. It has an incredibly interesting plot and idea behind it that I am certain would intrigue just about anyone who gets the plot explained to them.
And 2. The writing is quite frankly horrible and not done well at all, but in a way that can be enjoyable, unlike shows like the newer velma series that can only ever be hate watched at best. It has its charms, but you can tell the writer isn't in the big leagues of writers, at least at the point of writing this story.
Personally I absolutely loved it, and it is absolutely one of the shows I am the happiest for having watched, not to say it's a favorite, but something worth having gone through. But if I were to honestly criteque it and actually look into the writing, it would be rated poorly. It is what I call a "monkey brain anime", which is to say you are suppossed to watch without thinking to deeply into it, and just enjoy the sheer craziness going down on screen. People who genuinely hate on the show is the kind who can't just sit down and casually enjoy something. And that's not nesscarily a bad thing, watching something while overanalysing everything and critizing it in your head has its own charms, but this show just aren't for those people. That's not to say "oh you're just not its audience" or that you can't give it criteque. If you have watched a show, giving your oppinion and criticism is not just perfectly fine, it's a good thing and should be encouraged, as criteque is a very healthy thing for any community and series, and especially the creator who made it. Praise and encouragement goes hand in hand with criticism, and neither is more important than the other. Not to mention, it's only fun for so long to talk with people who all has the exact same opinion, even more so if it's the exact same opinion as yourself.
Sorry for the long comment, I can't help going into a rant for things like this.

Not becuse the animes ending, no the freaking MC! like this MC, this mother freaking inuslt of a man.
School Days; First of was the all the girls who looked like Ailens with there werid big eyes, but then we have the plot... oh god the plot.
Guys litraly the worst example of a "male" i ever seen, all he dose is stick his dick in things with litral no human reliable emotion, and for some god dam reason all the girls are on his ass like his made of cocaine.
They were like animals, horny crack adidicts fighting over who could get to screw with the pice of human trash that the that sad parody of a boy the MC was.
And the anime ends like "ho no he got killed from his actions, how scary" no im happy, happy... i was relived, it was over i was free!.
Wait ... come to think about it, how did i even mange to see it all to the end. i really really dont know, i think, i must have been in some kind of shock.

But man... you so right, also belive School Days is based on a romance game, it would be one of those games from new grounds i would not mind to play. Becuse as a game you would be the MC and it would not matter why the girls all are horny for you ass, thats just how "shit post games" are right, dont worry about it.
but as a anime, as a anime you need the MC to be somewhat human, and for there to be a reason why you would want to watch a bunch of girls to LUST over the MCs dick. In a game its your dick they after, and you can ingore that it makes no sens.

My hatred for this anime is unparalleled, to this day i School Days lives in my mind as black memory, i cant forget it but i do wish i could.

This show is one of my favourites of all time, the wacky nonsense just makes it even better lmao It made my childhood a lot better and will always have a special place in my heart. I love the OVA, the fact that Yuno eventually gets her 「Happy End」made me really happy

I mean, yeah. Being a bit scared is understandable, but even at 14 I still would’ve had enough of my mental faculties to put a base level of thought into my actions. I certainly wouldn’t have been showing all my secrets to the kid who’s been bullying me for ages and tried to sacrifice me to a fricken terrorist.
Yeah, it definitely had its flaws, but I still enjoyed it for the most part. I think this was actually one of the first anime I started when I was really getting into anime in the first place. Also that one opening is top tier (Fantasy Mythology?), you gotta love anything done by Yousei Teikoku.

Same, aside from the shows that once aired on 4kids, Future Diary was the first ever anime that introduced me into anime in the first place. Funny enough, it all happened when a full episode appeared on the RUclips recommended, which led me to watch the whole anime that was on RUclips at the time.
That moment when you realize this series were the alpha and the omega.

It's actually not, but definitely had to check. Had one in mind I was pretty sure came earlier.
The manga Future Diary ran from 2006-2010. The manga Battle Royale ran from 2000-2005. (Excellent manga btw, though seinen rather than shonen.)

The best parts of the show are the parts that aren't actually in the show, the parts that are implied. Like how Yuno used to be a normal girl, broken by the death game, fell in love, killed her lover with the intention of bringing him back to life, but then learns that you can't actually bring people back, that it'll just be a cheap imitation, gets broken even more to where she's bat shit insane, then goes back in time to try and fix everything, then we see yuki go through the exact same shit. I enjoyed this anime because I like watching a descent into madness, and if you think long and hard, and read between the lines, the logic works. Might not be the best logic, but it's not wrong. Most of the battles are between more that 2 parties which makes them a lot more fun, like how number 12, the main character, and the cultists are in a 3 way battle, number 12 being a blind hypnotist trying to destroy the cultists by using the cultists against the cult not even to participate in the game, but in the "Name of Justice!"
Something else that's implied and it seems a lot of people miss is that Yuno purposefully cripples Yuki's growth as a character.
In the anime, at the point where Yuki is taken by Murmur to the third world at the end you can see in the images of the first world floating around Yuki protecting Yuno in the fight against the 7s. Yuki was probably a lot braver and actually a decent protagonist in the first world, which is what led to him having the courage to try the double death with Yuno at the end.
Because of that Yuno does everything she can in the second world to make Yuki as cowardly as possible so he won't hesitate to kill her at the end and win the game.
I actually think that the diary mechanic is cool on paper. It gives characterization to everyone with a diary as soon as you discover their ability, and gives a reason for the MC to have the most OP one. Even though that reason is because he’s a hyper paranoid mess of a human. Also the ‘kill the diary to kill the user’ thing is stupid, because it just makes the answer to everything ‘snipe the diary’ and if they don’t do that then they’re just stupid. They’re stupid for other reasons too, but this doesn’t help.
I mean, if you can snipe through diary you can snipe the person. It would be more interesting if they played more around the types of diarys everyone has. Like, one person has an apple phone so it's super easy to break but another person as a nokia which are invincible so they have to actually kill the guy which will lead to problems of body disposal.

I actually didn't watch this till 2020, I got to experience the awful bull crap it was, and yet I still have fond memories of it. The psycho girlfriend is my favorite insane tsundere ever. My big gripe with this show is that the post credit scenes turned out to be canon, cause I didn't watch any of them, they weren't dubbed and since they were hosted by the closest thing to a mascot character I thought "Oh these are just gonna be episode previews that take to long because they wanna be comedic", so I skipped them every single time and then when the big plot twist happened I just quit the show cause it felt like I missed half of it.
It's not like the post credit scene had a lot to do with the twist at all
@@racool911 Scenes plural and yes they were, they hinted at the twist and developed the characters involved in that twist and the twist BEGAN in one of those scenes and I skipped It cause I thought It was just gonna be some more silly nonsense but then lo and behold the next episode starts from the end of that skit so I immediately assume there must have been missing episode or something, cause surely the comedy skits I skipped every single episode couldn't have been plot relevant, TURNS OUT THEY WERE!

School days was my 2nd anime and I watched both at 2016.

Future diary was my first anime. I had seen episodes of Attack on Titan, and One Punch Man before, but I never truly got into anime until future diary. I watched it all in 2 nights, despite having been on 12 hour work day, 7 days a week schedule at the time, and I continued watching more and more shows to sate my hunger. I was 19, and I didn’t give a shit how bad it was, I just watched,

Yeah, Yuuno is cringe, but Nine is based, so it evens out. Also, call back to the homie who, during the climactic ending, just goes "You can't have Yuuki anymore cause we're gay together now!" without even speaking to Yuuki. That shit sent me cackling like an idiot on my first watch.

I know I’m exceptionally late but the main plot is yuno won the original death game and wished for yuuki to come back but he only appears as a husk (which yuuki starts killing because he wants to resurrect his parents but it only brings back the person’s husk and yuno said with the powers he could bring them back but she lied so he’d start killing because she knows personally that kind of wish is impossible) and she goes back and basically does the same thing looking for a different outcome where yuuki actually gets fully resurrected as a living person and then the end happens

I remember future diary being one of the first anime I ever watched. Looking back on it, it didn't age very well, but it's still enjoyable.

Future Diary is a delightful dumpster fire and I love every single second of it
a dumpsterfire but the dumpster was full of shrums, bacon, dinamite and fireworks.
Also someone had placed that dumpster fire right on a railroad with a train full of children coming in at full speed.
I actually forgot a lot about this show; mainly only remembering the twist, how the protagonist ignored tons of weird signs from Yuno and that its theme was really catchy.

I literally used this show as study material for my psychiatrics module.
Honestly, I really liked future diary. You have to remember that it’s pretty old and was really good for its time. It had a bunch of character development, although admittedly some of the characters weren’t great. The plot twist at the end was good, which is probably what made me like it so much, but mostly Yuno lmao. She was my favorite character in anime for a while ngl
When I first found this anime years ago. I developed a taste for women like Yuno. The story may make no sense but it sure got people crushing over some of the women in this show.
I'm surprised the SA scene wasn't talked about. I guess we will just ignore that like it never happened.

I have no idea what metric other people use to determine if something is good or not, but I usually use "am i entertained, and do I understand the story"and if both answers are yes, than it's a good story for me. Future diaries was definitely a yes for both, but sometimes something is actually so bad it's good like The Room, but future diaries doesn't fall into that category.

Man, there are a lot of flaws with Mirai Nikki and I won't ignore that, but I'm still gonna continue loving this show because of character developement and the bomb ass theme songs

i grew up in Germany, Germany has rather weird TV rules compared to the US. While I grew up depiction of violence was mostly censored, so for examble parts of the early season of Naruto made no sense. When they left for the Zabuza arc, Naruto got poisend, cut himself to get rid of the poison and people were amazed by his healing abilities. In the german censored version it kind of seems like he cried away the poison because a lot was cut out. But on the other hand, we got softcore videos after 10 pm and straigth up hardcore po**n after 12 pm. So after I figuered out that you can watch anime uncensored/uncut online I found mirai nikki and was very suprised. What made me watch the anime in one go was primarily the plot twists in every episode. At the time I knew no show that went from 0 to 100 like they did in every episode. so i remember it rather fondly.
