- Learn how to operate the C40-8W around Cumberland Yard.
General Electric’s C40-8W (also commonly known as the Dash 8-40CW)
was produced at GE’s Erie, Pennsylvania plant from 1989 through 1994. GE constructed 847 of the 4,000-horsepower, six-axle (C-C) diesels powered by the builder’s capable 7FDL16 four-cycle power plant. An evolutionary refinement of GE’s advanced line of diesels begun with the “Dash 7” series, the C40-8W is visually notable for its use of the stylish “North American Cab.”
CSX was a major customer for the C40-8W (as well as its standard-cab predecessor, the C40-8) and the railroad acquired 268 of the units in 1991-1993. CSX’s acquisition of a portion of Conrail brought with it an additional C40-8Ws and the CSX roster of the type thus exceeded 300 units. A versatile and powerful main line locomotive, the C40-8W could be found in a variety of services ranging from heavy unit-train duties to hustling priority intermodals and manifests. While CSX has begun the retirement and sale of its C40-8W, the locomotive remains in service throughout the sprawling CSX system.

The CSX C40-8W or just any plain dash 9/8 is the original version of General Electric's GEVO. I think of a dash 9 like a p40dc, then being updated to the p42dc, making it better and more efficient. It's the same story with both locomotives exept they are both used for different purposes.
The C40-8W is basically the granddaddy of all GEVOS.

How can crouch down on pc?
I think you need to press either control or shift while you're walking.
What is the version of this game rn? (tell me with letters and numbers)
TSW2
They forgot to mount the headlight on the roof and add the marker lights :(
A lot of the CSX C40-8Ws had lower mounted headlights and patched marker lights, so pretty much just a generic C40-8W on the CSX roster.
@@emmettt.377 oh, I like the ones with the high head light and ditch lights that are further away from each other
@@kansasstatealerting717 only the ex Conrail series had marker lights and roof mounted headlights. This version of the dash 8 is CSX’s as delivered series so it’s not equipped with Marker lights and roof lights
