i was soooooo close to posting on time this week!! 30 minutes away... and for those of you who read this far, i have a confession about this video. well, two actually. 1) my mics were a little messed up so that's why the audio might not sound so great... and 2) i definitely taught a completely different strumming pattern for pattern 2 when i was filming and then didn't realize it until i was editing and didn't have time to rerecord so..... i had to piece together my footage. so... apologies if i look robotic! 🤖

hey everyone! thanks for watching! a question for my long time subscribers (and the newbies too! why not?) - what did you think of the "overview" section i included this time? was it helpful or not really?
the intention is twofold:
1) so everyone watching can see exactly what it is i'll be teaching in the video before you get too deep in, and
2) so people who don't need as much explanation or practice time can get the patterns they need and then skip to the play through at the end
please let me know if you find this feature helpful and would like me to continue to include it in future videos! otherwise i can go back to the old method and just have the time guide. thanks for the feedback!! :)
The overview section is really a good idea cause before watching the full video there viewers get to know what's in there for them. I am quite impressed by your nonchalant way of teaching. No trace of hurry. Amazing level of patience you have.♥️. Thank you so much

villayat ali khan thanks for the feedback! I know it makes the video as a whole longer, but it also makes it easier to skip around just to what you need (IMO). Also I think it’s counterintuitive to try to teach something and rush through it. Learning takes time! 🤗

The "lets play" section works great for me, and that you listed all the chords with the lyrics is great editing keep it up.

Damn. I've been learning guitar from tutorials on youtube and udemy from a while now, and this is by far the best tutorial I could find. Most of the times I just lose patience and give up, or the person that teaches bores me to death, or any other reason that makes me leave the guitar on the floor and do something else. You have good structure in all the info you give, a great tonality that is cozy and you make it look so easy to learn. I got the boost I needed to keep the guitar in my hands once more. I even subscribed, which I almost never do. I'm still a newbie, but I'll start grinding trough your tutorials and hope that many more will come. Thank you!

I liked your overview section. Not only are you a fab guitarist but a brilliant teacher as well - not many great guitarists have that combination. Perfect for this 74 year old who has just taken taken up the guitar having never previously played a single musical instrument in his life. When my children come to show me how to do something on a computer I tell them “Explain it to me as you would to a five year old” I don’t need to say that to you - you do it naturally and with a warm personality thrown in!

It’s a tough combo because you get some people saying I over explain and my videos are too long, and others saying they like how slowly I go. It’s been a struggle for years for me to make content for both audiences! But my thoughts are that I would rather have a long video that tells me everything I need than a shorter video that just gets my feet wet but I still can’t really play the song. I’ll have to keep experimenting! Thanks so much for the feedback and I hope you’ll stick around and learn more songs with me on my channel! ❤️
