    Another tip if you're the type to mostly use up an item and then not wanting to finish it for whatever reason go back and finish that third or less of a product.
    My first 2 project 20 pans were filled with these! And in the span of about 5 weeks I'd finished 40 items. Bad habit to leave almost finished items. So I had the benefit of finishing the items, getting a bit more room, getting closer to the point of not feeling like I was drowning in products, and since I was tracking everything I had I could easily see what I'd finished when compared with what I had left.

      +Kayla B That is a fantastic tip Kayla!! Thank you for sharing! I agree it helps to have things almost finished so you get a ton accomplished in a shorter amount of time :)

    I've been watching a ton of these videos and I have decided to do a quarterly challenge.That way I can utilize my fall colors in sep thru Dec and change it up after that three months.I tend to use different products for winter and summer.

    Great ideas! Currently undergoing a Buy No Beauty Product Until 2018 Project. I have samples galore, jumbo size shampoos & conditioners from when Ulta had them on sale, skin care, and makeup. I've started using face scrubs as body exfoliators and face creams as neck/décolleté creams in an effort to use stuff up and feel like I got my money out of it. Love your video!

    I had no idea project panning was going on for so long! i'm about to start my first one and i think this is the best advice video i'v seen. thank you. my ultimate goal is to keep my spending under control. I know one of your tips is not to go on no-buys around sales and holiday, which is now at the time of this posting, but it helps me not be a slave to the releases. 2018 was a crazy year, and i'm actually sick of seeing new things pop up nearly every day.

    Bethany, what a terrific video! As you were speaking throughout the video, I noticed everything you mentioned is something I've experienced or thought or done through my decluttering and project pans. Thanks for such AWESOME advice....you're the best! 😀👍🏻

    Excellent tips Bethany! I agree with you 100% about not forcing a product that you arent liking (I completely got rid of a whole set of lipsticks last spring because I tried to use one of them for a week and found out that I didnt like the formula - I wouldn't have known that without consistent use!). I'm going to have to try the tape over my sharpie marks (Mac products, no nail polish).

    • @GlamourWithGrace
      @GlamourWithGrace  9 лет назад

      +Kristen Kay Yeah I am all about adding products after doing my project pans or weekly makeup baskets into my delcuttering pile so others can enjoy them. Not worth suffering through it. I totally need to start taping my sharpie marks too!

    Great video for beginners as well as for ones that are several months in. I absolutely love the idea of taking a shadow and mixing it with nail polish or body cream. What a way to take something and turn it into something completely different. The panning community has been AWESOME! I love receiving the comments with the cheering on, it really does help push through especially when you are in a rut. Thanks Bethany for this video! xoxoxo

      +BrownEyedGirlCherise It has been awesome using products for different things to help spice them up or make it easier to use them. Let me know if you ever make a lotion or nail polish out of your shadows! I would love to know how yours turns out! I agree the project pan community is amazing!!!!

    I find it also helps to re-apply makeup. Not only does it help use up products faster, it also makes me feel refreshed & gives a confidence boost. I've been re-apply on my makeup at work and that has helped me finish off a foyndatioj, a BB cream, and a primer within the past three weeks.

    • @GlamourWithGrace

      +The Bluest Rose Great idea! I totally agree that reapplying helps feel more refreshed and uses up product more!

    I keep a small basket on my countertop of items that are about to finish so that I remember to use them. Also, I collect makeup/skincare/toiletries recycling in a bag for a month. It gives me great satisfaction to see the empties.

    So glad I came across this video. lots of inspirational and reassuring advice 2 especially re not having to feel you have to finish all of the product even if u don't like it. Another way to finish powder items like eyeshadow bronzer blush etc is to use, say a cuticle pusher to break up and crumble the product bit by bit to help pick up and use up the product quicker !

    I'm not really project panning, but I love watching these kind of video's because I'm trying to use things up this year (so probably I'm kind of project panning😂). It really motivates me to finish products and keep me to my nobuy. (Sorry if my english isn't perfect 😂 but you probably understand what I'm trying to say )

    Very helpful! I’m an eyeshadow palette junky and I am just fed up with myself. It’s like 30 years worth of makeup! I have three palettes I’ll be working on in 2018. My goal is not even to hit pan, but just to use and appreciate what I have. Then I have a handful of other products that are more realistic as far as using up. Thanks for the tips!

  • @emilyrebekah1

    Super good tips! In my next project pan, I'm debating if I am putting my bronzer and blush in it or not. It takes me FOREVER to use up those products. It also takes me an incredibly long time to use up perfume. I agree 100% though, if you don't like a product and can't make it work for you, toss it out of the pan! No need to force yourself to use it or keep it! #byefelicia

    • @GlamourWithGrace
      @GlamourWithGrace  9 лет назад +1

      +What Emily Loves Hahahaha #byefelicia! That totally made my night! Yeah blush and bronzer is super tricky but you could try and hit pan and then give it a break after that and not worry about using the entire product.

    This was so helpful and inspiring! As a new project panner any tips are super great! Your tip on repurposing a product (like making the eyeshadow into nail polish) is a really great idea that I might end up using on some shadows. I might also try to use that pesky cream blush as a lip colour or something. :)

    Nice tipps, i used one of my Powders more often last Month(perfect match) and after 3 weeks I already hit pan on it, wich was really cool. and to mark your Eyeliners/Lipliners is helping, cause you can actually see the progress you made with it. I mark my Mac items with little white sticker stripes, cause i will back to mac them and dont want black lines on them, but still see the progress.

    • @GlamourWithGrace
      @GlamourWithGrace  9 лет назад

      +KitteKat080 Wooohooo yay for hitting pan!!! I have never had a hard time taking my Mac products back with my marker lines. Have you??

    • @KitteKat080
      @KitteKat080 9 лет назад

      I dont know actually, if they would care. I know for Eyeshadows they want the package and the empty Pan. I try to use Eyeshadow more regularly, cause i have so much (mac and other brands) und like 30 mac pigment samples. The first pallette i hit pan on (8 from 10) is the Nyx runway palette in Champagne and Caviar. I like to motivate me with your and other panning Videos or pan that Palette etc.

    got here after watching +PrettyPistol86 and i want to thank you for your effort :) i recently hit pan on an eyeshadow palet and it felt awesome! but it will take me a while to hit pan on my blush, i love the color and i know that i was using it often a cuple of years ago but since then i just forgot how to apply it right for my face shape. so most of my progress is done by applying it and wipe it off right away. that was so not why i throw it in! i thought i would get used to the applycation after a while but no :/ it makes me very sad but after watching your video i thought about a new goal: lerning the right applycation instead of hitting pan on it. goals can change, right? :)

    I wish I would have watched this before I started my challenge this year. I'm struggling with it, I feel like I got bored of my products 😔

    • @GlamourWithGrace
      @GlamourWithGrace  8 лет назад

      Yeah it is super easy to get bored of products when you are doing a project pan. That is totally okay. Sometimes we need to take a break from a project or just spice it up by taking a break from those specific products and adding some new ones in the rotation. I have done that a bunch and then a few months down the road I pick up those products again and a lot of the time finish them and then celebrate it :)
