  • We took the dogs out for their morning Beach Walk after breakfast.
First time since the storms came through we've been out here with them.
We let them off-leash, and the exploration began. There is a lot of debris on the North shore, with turtle grass, seaweed, logs, and trash!
There is a particular Bamboo pole that had 'long-neck mussels' on it.
The pups went straight for that offensive odor and began their smorgasbord approach to eat the mussels like 'corn on the cob'.
I pulled the Bamboo post up onto a tire.
This caused Stripe to start digging at the ground where the log was.
All of a sudden he shook his head and threw something in the air!
When I went to check what he had, he grabbed it, flapping in the wind, smacking him in the face, as he ran off full-tilt towards home.
He ran all the way home, up the stairs, then into the puppy pen!
We gathered up the herd, making our way home.
Mama found Stripe in the kennel standing guard over something that made her shriek!
I was able to get it from him, but not knowing what it was, I asked a local fisherman - since it came from the sea.
"Bristle Worm", he said (Or something like that, in the same family) - When I looked up the name, I think it looks to me like a "Bearded Fireworm" from the hair follicle on its body. :)
