Thanks for sharing your story! To be honest, on the instrumental side of things I see more Asians than I do Hispanic/Latinx people either sitting in the orchestra or standing on stage as a concerto soloist.

Absolutely! This is part of the issue for Asians in opera is that we’re often told there’s plenty of representation in Classical music- which is true… but amongst brass players and opera singers, the representation is lacking. Whereas, there are many Hispanic and Black working singers in our industry and far fewer in the orchestra.

@Vince C Not all of us Vince! Some of us actually love Classical Music and are discouraged that there’s not a lot of us sitting in the orchestra or as concerto soloists.
