To expose his health like that took a lot courage ... but Deion is always so upbeat you wouldn't think he had such a surgery. Especially when his claim to greatness are his feet. So he's dealing with emotional trauma and physical trauma. But I think that's why he's going to be a great Coach at Colorado....

Man people don't realize he lost 2 toes in Jackson and almost his life and still coached on the sidelines. His story inspired me because I had a ruptured Achilles and was on a knee scooter and all that stuff as well. It was challenging on the mind at times.
Them people hating on him leaving Jackson but he turn that program around, changed kids lives and faculty, the entire school new Field, locker room and new equipment and they still mad he made things better

Had an Achilles rupture x2 myself. It is something that only those who have experienced it can understand. Took me a couple years to get back to normal. But at 37, I am better than ever. All the best to you brother.

I soaked up a lifetime of game from my grandfather and his friends. Papa would tell me to be quiet, ear hustle, learn something, dont ask any questions in front my friends I'll explain everything later... I learned how to play spades and dominoes watching them. Waiting patiently for the day they felt I was old enough to join in.

I really loved this one! Of course while still hearing and feeling the pain of what Deion has been through, it was seeing how at ease and comfortable he was with Shannon, to fully tell his story--and them laughing together like a couple of playful young rookies again--that filled my heart with joy. Always admired Prime but after this i have so much more respect for this man ....to have gone through these surgeries , being disfigured and faced with life threatening ailments yet..still be there for his family, keeping his sense of humor ...while standing on his faith in God... Thats the sacrifice of being as blessed as Deion is! Many of us through the journey of life think we are going to get somewhere without sacrificing anything. I had two broken toes, ankle and knee from football and you can't imagine how important your feet are to your entire body beyond just walking. Thank you for sharing this Shannon.

I always thought he was so cockey as a player, but he really is humble. I love how he always says "we", even "we had 9 surgeries" just shows how important family and the people around him are to him. Deon is a good dude.
It takes a strong will to live with that type of pain and pressure. I have gained a new respect for Deion Sanders. Most people I know would have died from grief, not wanting to live in that condition.

Players today play through the same injuries. But to play with a dislocated foot for 15 years is just bad medical staffing of a Football organization
Players today speak up about their injuries so they won't have to go through this later in life. That forces coaches and team execs to give them time to heal from their injuries so it doesn't have a lasting effect.

This is hands down one of the best TE's to ever play and without question one of the best all around players. These boys gave everything on the field especially prime. My first football memory is PRIME taking it to the house in the Superbowl.

It's good to see Deion Sanders be able to laugh a bit with his Brotha Shannon Sharp about such a challenging time. Not that ANY of it is funny, but to be able to speak on it without falling apart at his new normal. Surviving serious health concerns is deep, you literally are fighting for your life. But when you learn to laugh and enjoy life again you really know you are above the pain...even when you still have to manage it.
The "BBC" for the calf took me out!😂🤣 But seriously you should ask about family health history if possible.

I had my right big toe amputated due to a bone infection. Before that I use to snowboard,swim,go surfing in the Pacific in San Diego,hike.
I'm in the process of rebuilding my strength, balance and muscle mass.
Thanks for producing this interview. Deion Sanders is a great motivator to me. He shows you can push past so called setbacks.
