I used the roller foot when I didn't have a walking foot on my old machine so i could sew some really thin, shiny knot spandex. It was hell using the standard foot, but when i switched to the roller foot, the fabric started together easier, save feed easier. Once it got thicker from layers, though, i was able to use the standard foot.
Thank you for sharing. Your tutorials are very useful. I have a question concerning lace curtains. What footer, thread, needle and thread tension are suitable. Also the perfect way to measure the length wanted because the material is so tricky. Thank
This answer will vary depending on what you are working with. Please email us at info@sewingpartsonline.com and provide your make and model of machine and what material you are using and someone will be happy to assist you!
I have used both on faux leather. Wasn't happy. Material just didn't "walk"..I don't know if I didn't adjust my machine properly in terms of foot pressure, stitch lenght or tension, was it about the material, or about the foot (I bought it on e-bay). I'll try again, that's for sure, but any advice is very welcome
What is the make and model of your machine? I will be happy to see if there is a roller foot specifically for your machine and I can also see what settings are recommended based on your manual. With faux leather, for sure increase your stitch length.
@@bozenamissoni2993 There isn't a guaranteed option; however, cross referencing, this one should work for your machine. www.sewingpartsonline.com/snap-on-roller-foot.aspx?
Thank you so much for your tutorials. I always watch them when they come up because they are so good - very informative and clear. I’ve got one question though - is there a roller foot for a 9mm machine? I’ve looked for one and they don’t seem to be available. Having said that, my machine does have the accufeed so maybe I don’t need it. It’s a Janome mc8200qcpse btw. I’ve heard the roller foot is good for denim, is that true? Once again thank you for your tutorials, keep them coming! God bless.
I have the same machine as you. Unfortunately, I have been unable to locate a roller foot guaranteed for our model. We do, however, have an Ultra Glide Foot. This is a great foot that is commonly used on projects where you would use a Roller Foot. The one for your machine is: www.sewingpartsonline.com/ultra-glide-foot-janome-202091000.aspx As for working with denim, another great foot is the walking foot. I hope this helps.
@@SewingPartsOnline Yeah thanks, that's really helpful - I'll get the ultra glide foot, and good tip about using the accufeed for denim, thanks again 😊

Well done! Easy to follow, clear enough to understand, and thorough enough that I can extrapolate to the uses in my sewing life Thank you!
Thank you very much! I appreciate your feedback.

What needles do you recommend for leather and vinyl? This should work on my Baby Lock Crescendo, right?
