Every guard interview I've ever watched for 10 years now not one will admit to abusing prisoners and they all are "by the book" and follow the rules until it applies to them of course guess it was just the prisons I was in they must be different out here
Well she sounds all high and mighty demanding respect by calling her a CO when we all know there’s absolutely no difference between a guard and a CO. It’s like a policeman getting all disgruntled because you call him a policeman rather than a “an officer of peace”. Remember Hillary Clinton pushing hard to be called a civil servant rather than a politician. I don’t know a single high level politician that’s a servant to anyone. They are all politicians and all CO’s are guards. They are there to guard the inmates for the state. Officer my foot! And I’m not even an ex-con!
Naw, naw it’s Prison Guard!! When I started out in 1995 for TDCJ, we were called Prison Guards…. I did almost 26 years & yes it did change throughout the years. We went to Correctional Officers eventually. Also it used to be called TDC, when I first went in & it changed within months to TDCJ. The motto back then was “Firm, Fair & Consistent!!”
My sister was at Lane Murray she likes it and they have programs for the women to learn trades like reading and writing Brail but she is at Carol Young Unit now…. She say the State Jails suck the worst!
Same my sister is in prison at the moment she gets out in July. She’s hates it though, she says all the women in there are psycho’s. She’s got help with her drug problem though so hopefully she sticks to it when she gets out. She’ll be living with my mum which is close by so at least we can help her.
Worst than Texas prisons foods? I remember times where the chicken will still feathers and the pork will still have hair, a stink bug in your spinach or a cricket in your green beans, half of a cricket. I assume I ate the other half.
The officer I knew that worked in the men and women’s federal prisons, said the women were far worse than the men because of all the drama, and like she said, he said the woman would actively try to seduce and get male guards in compromising positions so he always had to be on his guard not to ever get in a compromising position. He didn’t have that problem with the men. He also said the women were always trying to get out of work or just lazing around on the job while the men seemed to appreciate having a job to go to. He preferred working with men. He ended up having to go to therapy and get on psych medications from working with the women and the stresses that came from upper administration. He had lots of complaints about administration from Washington,D.C. down. He actually complained more about administration than the inmates. I never heard him complain about the male inmates just the women and he was not a woman hater at all. He had great respect for women, it’s just these inmates had a lot of drama.
Every guard ive ever seen speak says they were the perfect guard never did any bad. Most lost their job or oeft because they were against the corruption 😂 YEAH RIGHT
I was a tdcj officer @ McConnell as well as an inmate later in life. The reason some officers look as heavy as they do is because when they up for their yearly inservice to make sure they still pass the fit test they will have friends of theirs go for them and sign them in to show they were present. It’s a thing they do to avoid going. Saw it happen all the time. Sargents that were over doing them let it slide all the time cause were they really going to fire them when they’re already short? Nope. Especially @ McConnell.

She was either not a tdcj guard or she wasn’t as one for as long as she said. She doesn’t know basic shit and the whole “dress” escape shit she said is fucked up and I feel sorry for whoever that girl was!

Shes correct about the they put you where they need you, not alot of units have housing, Conally Unit has barracks has barracks so they offer that to COs that dont have housing near by, I believe the closest unit we had was Dominguez
A lot of females are there looking for a husband . I had two myself but they wasnt guards they were in civilian jobs .The problem is inmates love to snitch out of jealousy .
