I have had a nightmare summer of illness and the way you narrate is excellent for when I can't really look at a screen but want something to listen to, so thanks! I agree with others who think water-types will dominate - in particular I think lapras is a contender for the crown because it has bolt/beam coverage that is obtainable reasonably early, is bulky enough not to get shredded by RNG, and it starts fully evolved
I'm sorry to hear you've been unwell, bud. I always make a conscious effort to keep everybody informed with what's going on - both visually and audially. I know a lot of people enjoy putting me on in the background, so I'll always keep you up to date with exactly where we are, and what we're doing.
Fire Red and Leaf Green are usually dominated by Water types. STAB Surf is massive in Kanto, and since most water types can learn Ice Beam and/or Blizzard you have a great weapon against Lance. Giovanni/Bruno/Brock/Misty/Blaine are all inconsequential with a water type, and as stated earlier Lance and even Erika can be nuked by Ice coverage moves.
life has been extremely hectic these past few days, and i've been feeling pretty miserable- your videos have always been a nice respite, so thank you. this made me feel a lot better and get my mind off of things.
I'm so sorry to hear that things have been hectic for you, bud. I'm glad I'm able to provide a little distraction, even if it's only for half an hour at a time. I really hope things calm down and look up for you soon
@@Squidgy thankfully, things have been looking up- it was something going on with my cat, but thankfully his treatment is going well and he's been improving quickly!
I think ground types will do well in Emerald. Watterson, Tate and Liza, and Steven are some of the hardest battles in emerald. The final water type champion would be difficult though.
Got to think that water types will do well in Fire Red. Not sure about emerald though Snorlax won't be super fast because of moving second each time but it'll be incredibly consistent and I think it could be resetless
I think there is a good reason that squirtle is used for a lot of speed runs in fire red and leaf green so I think (at least out of the starter types) water will dominate. Normal types shouldnt do as good since the first badge and rock tunnel exist. Other than that I cant really think of anything... Grass types are pretty good early on but fall off later and arent really useful against the elite 4. Ah ofc faster exp groups will perform better for obvious reasons.
I fully believe that Rollout is massively overrated as a move - even when combined with Defense Curl, the combination of a 10% chance to miss every turn and the inability to select a different move makes it much less powerful than people first think.
I think swampert could be top 3 in fire red assuming you save erica until you have 6 badges to outspeed her its nuetral to misty and sabrina and it has favorable matchups against every other gym
I didn't know for certain that I wouldn't need the Rare Candies until the first time I battled Red. Snorlax will get a redo in a few months' time, though, and I'll know then that we don't ened Rare Candies.

It is however, in the slow level group

Squidgy slowly going to take over the poketube world
Water and Psychic types have a very nice time in Fire Red! Not sure about Emerald though!
KENYA BELIEVE IT 😂 beautiful. I guess I expect psychic types to dominate fire red but I'm interested to see how that goes. ❤
Starting out my Friday on a good note. New Squidgy video!
Aipom is such a stand out in the leader board, up among all those powerhouses.

To be fair snorlax in gsc is THE king of OU.
I cant wait to see what types do well in Emerald and in fire red! The new set of hm friends is also something im looking forward to seeing
Sleepy Bear run! I’m glad I managed to catch up with all the other runs, Squidgy - looking forward to seeing how Snorlax fares :)
your videos are very satisfying to watch the cutting is awesome
I have always been called Snorlax, so yeah it's one of my faves. Good video :)
What a beast!
As much as I hate to see my boy Feraligatr now on page 2, Snorlax is just sooo buff. Great run!
Snorlax is such a beast!
I believe FireRed runs will see either Water or Psychics at the top while Emerald will have Grass-Types running the leaderboard
I think with Clair the Dragonair didn't thunder wave as Snoozle is such a slow mon as thunder wave is a speed control move as well as para
I think ground types will do well in Emerald. Watterson, Tate and Liza, and Steven are some of the hardest battles in emerald. The final water type champion would be difficult though.
I think snorlax is the most powerful normal type until gen 3 slaking. And even then snorlax is better because it doesnt have truant.
Also, Gen 2 is Snorlax's best Generation by far.
If Snorlax doesn't make top cut or near it, I'll be shocked.
Got to think that water types will do well in Fire Red. Not sure about emerald though

IMHO the ONLY good Fire red/Leaf Green Water type is always going to be Squirtle to Blastoise all the rest kind of SUCK.
I'm just happy Magcargo is no longer in last place, I always thought they should have made it a little better than what it is.

Water, psychic, and normal!
3:49 -- please dont take this the wrong way (ya like backseat gaming) however... nooooo you can pair defence curl with rollout and wreck things

Snorlax is actually strong both competitive and playthroughs.
I'm still waiting on the Pinser only run. Great job on this run too
You've not got too long left to wait!
I think swampert could be top 3 in fire red assuming you save erica until you have 6 badges to outspeed her its nuetral to misty and sabrina and it has favorable matchups against every other gym
Also for gen 3? I really think water types would do best in frlg and emerald but ground types would be best in rs.
17:40 five to ten minutes worth of WHAT?
SNOOOOOOOOOOORLAAAAAAAAAX.
The "literally me" Pokemon. Big, sleepy, strong.
Bah, it can't be me then! I'm just big and sleepy!
As long as you beat Milktank IN 1 hit the rest of the game is easier save for Red's way OVER leveled Pokemon.
Fighting in emerald is disgustingly good
Hariyama with HP Ghost should dominate the game
This is gonna be one of the first runs I try, I'm not 100% sure I'll run HP Ghost with Hariyama, but I love the Makuhita line.
I think water-type will dominate gen 3, not just because the "too much water" meme
Lol He called Janine Jasmine.
Snorlax might even be able to get done faster tbh. What if you did a run and didn’t go get the rare candies since you didn’t use them?
I didn't know for certain that I wouldn't need the Rare Candies until the first time I battled Red. Snorlax will get a redo in a few months' time, though, and I'll know then that we don't ened Rare Candies.
I was today years old when I learned “squidgy” is a Britishism. What does squidgy mean? I heard it on Notting Hill this morning
I didn't know it was a Britishism!
I used to have the letters SQG in an old username, and that quickly became Squidgy!
@@Squidgy I’ll have to do some research after work lol
@@Squidgy apparently it just means something that’s soft and wet and easily squished lol like a squidgy jellyfish
We say merci to paras in this comment section
Jasmine in Kanto? 😂 okay Janine and Jasmine had one thing in common in this run. Both were a joke for snorlax
The most broken pokemon in gen 2, let's see how it does... But I'm sure it will own!
I'm early! Great video!!
Grass type will top all leaderboards! And no I am not biased in anyway, why do you ask?
Absolutely, Peach!
I'm determined to get another Grass-type Pokémon into the Top 10 at some point. I've no idea what, or how, yet though!
Chonky boi!
edit: holy moly at that level?!
I was shocked at how Snorlax dominated the Red fight! I believe he's had our quickest time between Blue and Red to date.
first
Better luck next time
