Just happened to stumble on your video. Just wanted to let you know I really enjoyed it. I too am an alum of an HBCU (undergraduate) and PWI (graduate), and I thought you two did a very good job of giving your fair assessment of your experiences. I may show this to some of the students that I talk to about college, in the future.
Thank you!!
I'm a parent with a daughter at FAMU and nephew graduated from Eastern Illinois. What I find strange is why do the black students go out of their way to segregate when at a PWI. My nephew pledged Omega (the blackest frat) at a PWI.... WHY 🤷🏿♂️ Having a African diaspora floor in your dorm? Just attend an HBCU, unless you get a scholarship it doesn't make sense. I've always been the minority grade school thru high school not by choice. When given the choice choose your comfort space. I'm glad you two are in college ✊🏿B1
I watched video 1 also 👌🏿 You said Spelman is expensive, well so is Howard, they are private. The public HBCU's are less expensive.
Thank you for sharing your perspective. In my opinion, I believe Black students create their own spaces on PWI campuses because it is natural to form communities and gravitate to folks who share common values, experiences, or similar mindsets. I believe it is important for us to attend these institutions and carve out our own spaces and carry on the legacy that Black students and activists before us fought so hard to have access to. Overall, no matter where you attend school regardless a PWI or HBCU I believe it is important to celebrate our Blackness and be proud of persevering through the American education system.
I love this video series tbhhh😭!
Thank youuuu!
I can 100% second the importance of keeping your eyes open and doing your own research. I don't care if it's a professor or fellow student giving you advice...as someone who went to a PWI, many of these kids have parents that are loaded and can make a phone call to get them a job out of school. DO WHAT'S BEST FOR YOUR SPECIFIC SITUATION. Plenty of people will try to tell you what the best route is, but they may not have your goals, values, strengths, financial limitations, mental capacity, etc.
I agree so much with this since I go to Davis!
OMG I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS
Thank you!
Nice video! p.s. broo can you do a hair routine / hair maintenance video your hair is actual goals 😂
Thank you! More hair videos coming soon lol I'll have him make another one the next time I see him!
idk if you'll see this bc i'm late lmao but where can we reach malcolm? I'm a junior in HS and I've been strongly considering Howard for a while and I wanted to talk to someone about it but I don't know anyone that's gone there or anything so yeah. your videos are great, also!
Hey! Thank you for watching! What's your email? I'll have him contact you
TNT Creations i’ll send it via dm
Love your videos I'm a senior in hs and l applied to UCLA. If I don't get in I may just transfer
if you got into ucla:what were your stats?
Stop comparing a university owned by millionaires to an HBCU. This whole thing is ridiculous
Why can't we have a discussion? Students want to know about the pros & cons about both institutions to make an informed decision on where to go for college. Education is empowerment.
