I aaaaaaagggggggreeeeeeeee!!!!!!! Most other constructive and helpful videos don't break down as deeetaaailed all the little steps to the Ollie by breaking down and explaining how and why the front foot. needs to slide forward towards the nose, why and where you place your feet, the mechanics of the Ollie and how taking weight off the back foot after you pop the board allows the front foot to drag the board upward to the height you need it to go and then leveling out the board to the land the trick... Beeeeeeeeeest beeeeeeeest evvvvvvvvvver dude.... The O.G. skateboarders separate but same Ollie tricked explained videos by Tony Hawk and Rody Mullen are the one ones that come close and some wherein the mix the Braille Skateboard channel How To Ollie video... I thrive off precise step by step detail and deeper concepts and mechanics and you deserve an Oscars tutorial award for the best Ollie video on the internet and You Tube hands down... I believe other channels leave out some of the details that you don't provide because they've been doing the trick so long, they don't think about the other Little Steps that's important to someone who's a day one beginner to need to understand why the trick works so that people watching can better understand how to execute the trick... Plus your teaching ability us suuuuuppppppeeeer thorough!!!!!!!! Thaaaanks duuuude!!!!!!!!!!!!! Much success to you!!!!! HAPPY SKATING!!!!!!!!!
started learning to ollie 2 weeks ago and this video got me off the ground. The slow mo at 6:08 really helped me analyze timing and leg movement. Thanks a ton.
It's crazy how important that part of visualization is when it comes to skating and board sports in general. It really improves your way of moving and controlling the board. When you visualize what you're doing next, your mind is completely focused and your body just follows naturally with the motions it has learned before. Big up 2 you guys keep on the good stuff 🤙✌
this has to be the best ollie tutorial i’ve ever seen all the other just tell you it’s so easy and simple and only give 2 steps without gully breaking it down they say “oh just pop your tail and slide your front foot up and you got it” this one tells you everything and i think with this tutorial i can finally perfect my ollie
The part about holding onto something really helped me get what an ollie is supposed to feel like. Such an underrated piece of advice. And if you can find a crack to put your wheels in and a wall/fence to hang onto, even better. Eventually you'll feel the board suck up to your feet. When you feel that. Do it about 20-30 more times and then try to ollie without the wall. I saw Instant improvement.
You legit have the best tutorials iv seen on youtube. The popping with the ankle explanation is overlooked on most. The smallest things are most crucial sometimes and u go over it all.
I really like how detailed this is about each step and how relates, in time, to the other steps. I wish I would have watched this ollie-how-to first! The other vids rarely explain the rear foot this well. Thank you! Just knowing that the snap happens right before the foot leaves the board would have saved me a lot of frustration.
This channel is one of my favorite skating tutorial channels. It didn’t disappoint this time either. Reasons: 1) Visually great, the vids look cool, the sound is quality too 2) The pace of the text is excellent, the speaker sounds super friendly and encouraging 3) The animations and the slo mo parts are really helping with visualising what you want to learn (arrows for example) 4) Tricks can be seen repeatedly. Anyway I really really appreciate your work, guys.👏👏👏👌
This is really well done. Like others have said, this is one of the best I’ve seen in terms of the details and especially the clear explanation on the timing, the dynamics of the board, and the practice motions of the legs and feet, beyond just the jump-pop-slide usual thing. Awesome stuff.
watched a bunch of ollie tutorials on youtube and now i think i have all the pieces and all thats left is to just practice it over and over and over again until i get it. Good video was super helpful in helping better understand how ollies work :)
Thx soooo much. I don't know how I didn't notice but my back foot was all the time in the way. I was thinking maybe the pop is the problem or the drag but it is simply getting my back foot out of the way while my front foot drags and especially pushes. Dude thanks a lot
Beeeeeeeest evvvvvvvvvver and suuupppeeer thorough How To Ollie video.... The winner of the best Ollie video to ever be created and be inducted into to the How To Ollie Skateboard Hall Of Fame is this video here!!!!! Thxxxxxxx duuuudeee!!!!!! HAPPY SKATING!!!!!
Very helpful, I’ve never heard of practicing the jumping motion without the board before and imagining the front foot making a circular motion - awesome visualization technique!
Really good tutorial man! I think I FINALLY get it! The advice about not trying to stomp down with my back foot and just use my calf muscle to more like flick my toes down to pop is such good advice! I can't wait to get back on a board and give it another try!
This dude has such an insanely high ollie jeeeesus. Thanks for the tips, Tactics! Getting back into skating after about 15 years and these vids are helping me get my muscle memory back
I like to teach people Down Up Pop to get the motion down. Squat down, shoulders parallel with the board. Start to jump up off both feet, but in that up motion before you reach the top of the jump, you need to pop the tail of the board off the ground. Kind of like you hopped off the ground with just your back foot
You're totally right! A lot of tutorials get the order wrong, saying you need to pop, THEN jump. But it's actually a jump first, and the pop is when you're on your way up. Cheers! 🍻 - Tim
This is the best tutorial for ollie!! I have been trying ollie for 10 days and was not able to do a single ollie but I watched your video yesterday and understood my mistakes. I worked on them and was able to do my first ollie today. Thanks a lot!!
Bro thank you from germany im 18 years old and i skated since 8 years but im only trying tricks since 2 weeks i hape with these tipps i will progress faster
what im finding though, is all the guys doing these videos tell you to get the front foot to have the toe match the edge of the deck or even hang off a bit. But when they actually do it, they would have the toe move in a bit. My guess is that it helps the ball of the foot get to the center of the board, and also let the body face forward more naturally because if the front foot is more forward, the body would want to turn backside.
I felt like big thing I learned yesterday to keep my Ollie consistent was also sliding back foot after the pop when lifting. I tend to land ollie's on the nose but this tip help land more on the bolts
The best clip I've ever seen so far. A clip from a board shop. I thought it was too good to be from a private channel. Great ollie you're demonstrating! And nice shoes by the way!
this video!! been struggling with ollies for months but everything just clicked after i watched this haha. finally getting some decent height with my ollies now :))
Dude your allies are so freaking clean and consistent. I keep rotating frontside and i cant stop it. Its bad for rolling ollies bc my board lands crooked. Im goofy and when i ollie my board rotates to my right in the air so im doing like a frontside 45 or something.
It either has to do with you opening up your shoulders frontside when you jump, or it might be that your pop isn't completely straight down and you're popping it at an angle kind of like a frontside pop shuv it. Stay focused on keeping your shoulders parallel with the board the whole time and the pop needs to be straight down. I hope that helps! - Tim
Man i've watched over a thousand ollie tutorials and this one is really the most detailed and precise one, thank you
same

I've had this issue with my ollies landing frontside, and that ninja-kick suggestion you made seemed to help fix that considerably. Thanks!
Great lesson and video production as well. This will be really helpful to a bunch of us. Thanks Bro!
